That looks like the puppy! Definately worth more than £60m, estimated £150m build according to google. Glad I’ve seen it, she moved off earier this afternoon. No helicopter on her though the whole time she was here. Did see one buzzing around the bay yesterday but seem to big to fit?!

She didn't go too far, in Phang Nga Bay off Krabbi.

There was an article in one of the magazines a while back - it's a very well travelled yacht. Even doing a bit of science along the way.

Pretty superficial science TBH, that's not even a degree level paper, and they can't spell diverse.

It’s just enough ‘research’ to make the trip, tax deductible. wink

Not £60M but I'm loving the look of this

34M mini explorer from Cantiere Delle Marche.

Strengthened steel hull which is 'light ice class' and a range of 5,700nm at 9 knots.

Proper go anywhere boat, not too ostentatious or big but perfect for long range cruising with family and friends.

Mine will have to have a blue hull though

Good video of it here:

How much might might that cost someone with such good taste?

Between £10M-12M depending on specification. I'd rather have a Nordhaven 120

Having initially been quite impressed by these 'explorer yachts', as the trend has spread they are increasingly like the SUV / 4x4 of the sea. I wonder how many of them really go cruising through the Southern Ocean ice fields for 20,000 miles at a time?

Rather cheesy, I agree!

Why might it not be for charter by US citizens in US waters, I wonder?

Ok that’s st but it’s just agents guff.

This one will see more remote locations I’m sure. Why would you bother going to the expense of having a stronger hull and the other expensive stuff needed for sailing in ice if you weren’t going to use it?

Lone Ranger is the real deal, the big Kusch Tugs really are properly used around the world expedition ships. There is at least one PH’er that worked on her for many a year too.

That’s sort of why I made the SUV / 4x4 comparison. It seems that ‘ruggedness’ is the new dimension of ostentation.

used to know Kirsty really well, I inherited her white alsation "Enzo" when she couldn't keep him any more , this was pre her marriage. If you look at the branding on the plates in just about any pub or restaurant it will be Churchill, her family business, so she was already pretty well off before she married

One of the draws of yachts for people is to get away from it all and get some peace and quiet. It looks like these days you'll struggle to get much of that in the Med or Caribbean which are rammed with yachts.

At least with these 'explorer' boats you can go further afield and gat away from all of the plastic fantastic.

Happy to be corrected! I shouldn't have said 'very'. Should have said 'relatively'. My mind is boggled by the wealth. smile

I prefer the exterior lines of the Cantiere but much prefer the interior of the Nordhaven. Stunning.

If I win the Euromillions on Friday I'll just get Winch Design to fit out my Cantiere.

You may buy one with a Euromillions win, but I doubt you'd run one for long.
