I don't think Hull speed really supplies to modern hulls, especially ones with such high investment as this one.

Something pretty big in front of lady Moura. Couldn't see the name, something like Margate!

That's Stargate and she's 260ft. The family who had them built had two yachts exactly the same made with the other called Constellation. They both used to berth at club de mar.

Thanks for the heads up. I just searched for it in the Sky app and in spite of "first aired 29 Jan 2019" it's available to download!

Yes, correct. It is available to download now if you have Sky. (I made the wife watch it last night)….

That was fascinating. It is amazing to see how little draught (if that is the correct word!) there is and its still sails without capsizing

In the superyacht world a 7.2 meter draft is enormous. It will be one of our operational nightmares as trying to find marinas that can take a 106 meter yacht with over 7 meter fixed keel will be a real struggle. By comparison the 90,000+ ton Queen Victoria has a 8 meter draft.

whilst impressive in its size, I find the design so boring.

Maybe this is a better image. I think as massive yachts go it does look elegant.

Not quite in the £60m bracket but a sad day for the British marine industry today, Robert Braithwaite of Sunseeker passed away overnight. I spent a good degree of my working life there and he was a firm, but fair boss who always looked after his staff.

RPM,
You must have a very exciting life if you think that design is boring!
Not easy to make something that big to look elegant.
Maybe you would prefer this design, albeit a few metres shorter...

I agree, that's an elegant thing, certainly for the size.

Very sad news indeed.
Many exciting years dealing with Robert. A great loss

Sultan of Oman’s yacht ‘Al Said’ parked up in Muscat.

It’s bloody big, is pretty much all I can say about it.

I don’t know much about yachts but I was surprised at just how big it is. I actually thought it was a cruise liner at first.
