No photos unfortunately but my all time favourite Alfa Nero was anchored outside Cannes yesterday - still looks a cut above everything else to me. Sunrays was down here as well - I like that one as well.

Good friend of mine is the Captain of this yacht, has got a pretty sweet life to boot!

Only a tiddler at 42.5m.

Great boat, she's now 47m courtesy of Pendennis. Not $60m in value by any stretch, but a lovely elegant yacht and plenty big enough for world cruising with a family.

Yeah, it feels a bit odd to be condescending about something costing so much, but it's sure as hell true that money can't buy class.

Not that I'd mind having the money!
I aspire to have so much money and such little taste smile

Are there any properly minimalist/clean/sleek/modern/unshiney interiors on any of these vessels?
I don't know if it's quite £60m, but step forward Shemara

This, IMO, is how to do it.
Charles Dunstone the Carphone Warehouse founder's yacht.

There was a good feature on her restoration in Boat International a few years ago. Fantastic looking family yacht.

Anyone watched ‘superyachtcaptain’ on YouTube? Quite interesting and I assume done at the owners permission of course considering it shows a lot of behind the scenes.

It’s not a mental huge yacht but fairly big - Yacht AWOL and captain is Tristan Mortlock.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCGiwH3UwI52fKr7P...

He is a lot younger than I expected for a captain but that was based on zero knowledge of the industry to be fair.

It's a great channel and gives a fascinating insight.

The owner even appears in one of the Vlogs wink

Thanks for flagging that channel - interesting stuff. That was quite a big bugger they moored next to in Portofino!

Exactly !, No matter how cool you and your boat and sexy the deck hand, the one next door is always something to oogle.

I bet that would have not been so much fun with a little breeze blowing.....

A great channel. I have no connection to boats at all, but I've wasted many hours enjoying Tristan's insight into another world. Nice guy, great management style and attention to detail, and a decent vlogger to boot.

If we all chip in do you think we can raise the EUR 300,000 per week (plus provisions and fuel) for a charter? smile

Anyone know what money he would command as captain?

He’s got a video covering that, watched it last night. Seem to recall 7-10k euro per month, with zero cost of living as food and board are provided (obviously!).

I know it's relative chump change in this company, but Riva does do the style thing rather well, I think:

Don't you watch Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean? It's a bit of a set up but compelling nevertheless.
