Their was an interesting comment made by a well known Super-yacht Lawyer who said crew may have an argument for an MLC claim if an owner insisted on using/coming on board their yacht in the current climate.
Did they happen to mention which MLC clause they were referring to?

We are asked for 28 endurance in the offshore W2W world - but with 40 pax
Translation anyone?
As above - Walk2Work type vessel, but mainly supporting Offshore Wind activities.
Like this - (but better ;-) ) https://www.esvagt.com/wind
Sorry for being dim but I still have no idea what you’re saying: 28 endurance? 40 pax?

Apologies - 28 days endurance - the specification asked for for the vessel to be able to stay offshore and away from port (if need be) with up to 40 Passengers (or workers in real terms), plus crew of circa 20 /24.
Obviously bigger boats and durations are feasible, costs change in the design to suit.

I was only mentioning that in the way 60 odd men can plough through food, have food waste mountained after 28 days at sea.

surely, 28 days at sea with 40 passengers being fully self sufficient, i.e food/fuel/provisions

No, but we both know this lawyer & l don't doubt he has done his research. Worth looking into though, albeit l don't expect our owner to want to join us in a ship yard any time soon.....

Yes I noticed that too, great spot if not a little exposed from a westerly swell.

Fantastic, thanks for the link. Admittedly didn't help my WFH...

Even going through all the views, still can't comprehend the size of these things. The size of some of those deck areas is staggering!

From the limited times I've seen inside these super yachts, they often seem quite garish. 'Here comes the sun' looks fantastic to me though. How I picture the interiors should look.

Been thinking about the sailing yachts with Dynarig and in some cases the styling of a Nike trainer (Yacht A you know who I am talking about)

And i cant help but think that this is way more elegant, sophisticated and in much better taste even if only 43 or so metres

It’s gorgeous but not very practical and I’m sure I read once they have an annual running cost of around $3m yikes

J’s are fabulous... the most beautiful things afloat IMO.

There was one for sale recently, at around £17m. £3m a year running costs probably not far off - if you race them the crew costs alone would be eye watering.

Accommodation wise, you’d probably get more space on a Wally Cento, or a SWSY 105, but not the elegance of a J.

Bucket list job that.

And surprisingly compact compared to when you see the images of them out racing fully tooled up...

Not sure that practicality is am important issue with any of the sail powered superyachts. A fk off 70m dynarig mast is limiting in itself. I can think of plenty of places where you couldn't park it
