Poole quay is a favourite, someone I know was manoeuvring a Trader45 which they’d only just acquired, to the fuel barge next to the old lifting bridge when the wind caught it and managed to impale it on some scaffolding surrounding the bridge. Amused, not, large crowd watching.

That's just amazing.

Mental that such things are now the 'toys' of a few, but heck, if I could, I would.

SY Meraki - Gun Wharf Quay today.

Edited to add that that photo looks there's a perspective thing going on, but she's tied up pretty much level with the Spinnaker Tower and the 5 storey buildings just behind.

Just seen a post of Facebook, appears some strong winds pushed Black Pearl in to the quayside in Montenegro.

Have to say, the side of the yacht looks better that the quayside in the pics!
Going back a few pages to pick up on this, but the wind in Montenegro ripped off a main mooring cleat from a friend's boat a few weeks back. yikes

Suspect any chance of moving the Black Pearl once the wind has got up was about 0. Interesing marina to visit though, presuming she was in Porto, often some good things to look at.

Totally!

Alfa Nero has long been *IT* for me, at any money.

It's just so right. The only other boat that gets me going like Alfa Nero does, is Octopus.

I'm assuming that the swimming pool bottom comes up and becomes the heli landing deck?

+1

I got to within a few meters (well maybe like 50-100 - it’s hard to scale!) of it while on a jet ski a few years ago in France.

It’s incredible.

In car terms, I feel same way about Alfa Nero as I do about the 360 Challenge Stradale.

Sure, there's more objectively impressive stuff, but it just makes me go all gooey biggrin

I didn't know men could build such things.

Madness. Stunning though.

Erm... what happens to the water in the pool?

Ironically, in the scheme of super yachts, Alfa Nero is actually pretty restrained - imo.

£800k a week. I notice another yacht on that page going for £1.1M a week. Mental.

Alfa Nero is from £698k per week according to the above page.

Does that make it any more affordable?! hehe
