I quite like that!
Instead of producing what weave broadly come to accept as the outline of most luxury yachts, this seems to place functionality over history.
I’d love that.
It's not 'history' that means they look they way then tend to. It's physics, structural and watertight integrity, strength.Instead of producing what weave broadly come to accept as the outline of most luxury yachts, this seems to place functionality over history.

This thing looks funky but it also looks like a bh to design and engineer.

Hull looks conventional, its only light weight superstructure that is funky, just a set of clothes This thing looks funky but it also looks like a bh to design and engineer.

The hull looks conventional? The side shell at midships down to about a metre or so above the waterline, isn't normally made of glass. There doesn't appear to be much in the way of transverse watertight boundaries up to the freeboard deck, from looking at the pictures, and those side shell openings look horrific.

eg Princess (I know its much smaller)
and I wouldn't have thought any more difficult to implement than this, which is also universal
Once you get to the 90-100m WL length, global strength becomes a much bigger issue, and the bottom picture, beach clubs are never at midships, where bending is at its peak.
I'm not trying to sound like a smart arse, but I do kinda know what I'm talking about here. Comparing the structural strength and arrangement of a 40m vessel and a 90m vessel is like comparing an mx-5 to a train; not really comparable.

I see what you mean, it must depend on what happens inside in terms of structure. A GCI is a bad indication.I'm not trying to sound like a smart arse, but I do kinda know what I'm talking about here. On a vessel like this, not really. Most of the strength is going to be in the shell side and bottom, and the strength deck, it's not like a frigate/destroyer/OPV where internal decks are useful from a longitudinal strength perspective, and your likely to have a more comprehensive double bottom arrangement and probably some main longl bulkheads IWO passageways/DC stations. Not to say it won't work, but it looks like a bit of a fker.
Apparently some rich person is interested in it though, so I might get to find out sometime soon.
I have noticed that SY A can be been on the Satellite view of Google Maps in Montenegro. Does anyone know of any other yachts that can be spied and identified using the satellite view? I guess there aren't many yachts that can be identified from above, but I was just curious. Was a cool thing to see (much like stumbling across planes mid-flight). I know that there's a separate thread for cool stuff on Google Maps but I doubt people would have the knowledge of yachts.

I had a go, took a punt that Genoa might have a few recognisable vessels:Davey S2 said:
The number of Mega Yachts that have either been arrested, seized or have all scarpered to the Maldives or Vladivostok or on their way there is huge and still growing:
Dilbar, Eclipse, Luna, A and Sailing yacht A, Crescent, Axioma, Nord, Sea Rhapsody, Clio, Lady M, Amore Vero, Amadea.
The crews of the boat seized by the US are paid by the US government until sold. A few boats will be sold at the Monaco boat show in September. Bargain time! Dilbar, Eclipse, Luna, A and Sailing yacht A, Crescent, Axioma, Nord, Sea Rhapsody, Clio, Lady M, Amore Vero, Amadea.
