Not all owners want to sunbathe or sit out in the open all day.

Look at Dilbar. Apart from the 2 huge helipads there's very little uncovered space anywhere.

Good point. I used to see Dilbar a lot in Antibes and hadn’t really noticed.
Under the helipad and under the 'visors' there look like three very similar outdoor areas. Is one private for the owner's suite?

Are they more different to each other than they look? Otherwise with 12 guest max, what's the point in having two the same, if you could do something else with that space?

I'd imagine both helipads could easily be configured as a sundeck. The transom is also pretty bloody big - and is there a 'beachclub' setup by opening the big rear hatch?

Terms above may be highlighting my ignorance!

There's also the point that the locations these things spend most of their time in are not the sort of places you want to spend in full sun for very long at all if you don't want to become crispy. Nicely shaded outside areas with a cross breeze will be far more pleasant.

Today's Telegraph reports that this design made the shortlist for the new, now-axed Britannia. It's not what I expected

"London-based Vitruvius Yachts has shared its previously confidential proposal for the design of the 125-metre yacht, citing sustainable power and diversity as key features of the plans."

I can understand sustainable power. How does diversity fit in, does it self identify as a little boat to avoid MCA compliance, or culturally diverse to avoid and tax implications??

That is stunning.

Toss up between Huisman and Baltic as to who builds the most beautiful modern yacht.

I love everything about that. It reminds me of a Wally - but for some reason so much more.

Damen SeaXplorer 58 launched...Absolutely LOVE the paint chosen for this. I suppose it has a massive toy garage under that massive rear deck?

I guess that’s why we’re lucky there’s so many designers and manufacturers out there as to me it looks awkward and fussy - more of a shadow yacht than a yacht in itself.

Explorer style yachts are the new fashion, the SUVs of the sea if you like, hence the design and name.

those fenders look largely irrelevant !
I just wonder how often she docks, versus lays at anchor for fuelling, stores etc.

Forum favourite Alfa Nero to be Auctioned off by the Antigua and Barbuda Government.

I guess value must be circa $100 mil, or equivalent to a couple of lobster sandwiches at Antigua's prices.....

One things for sure- I'd double check I got a clear title of ownership in all international waters after the hammer goes down......as I can't help but think in a few years time there maybe some Russkies that come knocking for their toys back.

Lying in bed picturing a rib full of Wagner lunatics heading my way under cover of ttness would take the shine off things, somewhat.
