I assume they were temporary attachmants to stop the ailerons thrashing about in the wind. When the ailerons move, the control column in the cockip swings from side to side.
Could they not just attatch a bracket to the fixed part of the wing to stop moving around as opposed to drilling a whole and lugging lead weights around with them everywhere they go..??Jasandjules said:

Nah nothing important was damaged (as long as the rudder etc. still worked) so it will be fine. I've gone up in planes with a few holes in them, hell, I went up in a plane which didn't have a door....
