Are there any left in service? I thought they'd been phased out a couple of years back.

My FiL (who considers himself something of an expert) reckons he saw one flying over the house the other day.

If they're not in service still, what are the chances of one still being flown around?

Don't think so - unless it was a French, Indian or Omani example.

I thought the French had stopped operating the Jaguar in 2005ish, and us a few years later. I could be one of the two that were kept flying by QinetiQ, not sure if they are still flyable though. Or as Eric said could be from the Indian or Omani airforce.

Thanks chaps. He's a bit of an armchair expert so may well be talking out of his R.S.Hole.

Where did they all go? were they sold on or scrapped, or did any find their way to private owners? Always liked the Jaguar.

Last flew with RAF squadrons in 2007. Cosford has quite a few as instructional airframes see here - http://www.fast-air.co.uk/DCAE-Cosford-Photography...

I saw one out on the apron when I went up to see James May's Spitfire.

India has large numbers of Jaguars still in operational service.

Nothing major in the NOTAMs.

Some carrier exercises in the Moray Firth and the North Sea - http://tinyurl.com/ydey3wj

As an aside, it does seem to be National Cold-Wet-Meat-Bomb weekend - hods of them either hurling themselves out at 20,000 feet or chucking themselves into the water.... http://tinyurl.com/ybss6qf

I always liked the Jaguar. It still looks modern to me and far nimbler than the lardy Tornado.

The Defence College of Aeronautical Engineering at Cranwell has at least two GR1s and two T2s which are used as ground training assets. They don't get airborne.

Does ETPS have one in service? They may never have had, but I just had a feeling i'd seen one in their colour scheme at some point.
