They were practicing for a few weeks, I think the Blue Peter presenter was riding passenger in one for REd Nose day.

They've been over my house a numerous times, I live about 3 miles from Cranwell, just trying to spot my house on the footage, no success yet :-)

I remember seeing the same video with the landing shown from the ground. Highly impressive!

That was an awesome piece of flying. Anyone got the link to the ground footage of the landing?

Not sure if it's the same flight, but same aircraft, same pilot.

There's more videos on Youtube if you search for 'Joe Horta' (pilot) or 'Do-28' (aircraft). Actually, the aircraft is a G92 conversion of the Do-28, fitted with Walter M601 turboprop engines, built for skydiving operations.

It took a while to create (and to upload from here in Papua!) but here's what I hope will be the first of many videos flying in the mountains of West Papua, Indonesia:

Pilatus PC-6 Bush Flying in the mountains around Timika, Papua

Currently gathering footage from lots more airstrips out here whilst flying in the supplies and people so hope to have another movie out in the next few months smile
Cheers, Moose.

Definitely a Lancaster. I expect that the film is from a Luftwaffe gun camera and just slotted into this documentary after the shot of the P-47. Alternatively, it was a captured Lancaster sitting on a Luftwaffe airfield.
