Interesting bit of kit but I'm struggling to work out what it was trying to prove.

Was a WWII idea for long range bomber defence that just carried on after the war. Could have proven useful for the nuclear powered NB-36H Peacemaker and Convair X-6 bomber programme that could stay airborne for weeks but that didn't get far.

At the time they thought strategic bombers would need a fighter escort to reach their target, but no fighter at the time had the range so they came up with the idea of the parasite fighter which would be carried by a parent aircraft until it was needed

How about this option?

That didn't work out too well either - including one serious and fatal accident.

When Mythbusters tested whether a supersonic aircraft could actually break windows, I guess they picked the wrong aircraft when they used an F-18...

Bizarrely being a nerd who has read every aircraft accident report produced, I never came across this incident - amazing lateral thinking (a bit dramatized) but still

There was a UK proposal involving slinging a Gnat under a Vulcan, but fortunately everyone had sobered up before they got round to testing the concept.

IIRC the idea was to use them as manned cruise missiles, with a nuclear warhead in the rear cockpit. The pilot was expected to bail out before impact

I think few would want to emulate Major Kong

I guess I was asking how long before delivery a pilot could bale out and have any prospect of survival in that scenario.
