More footage from 1992 added. These clips are from a non-public airshow held at RAF Odiham that year to commemorate No.33 squadron's involvement in the defence of Crete in World WS 2. In 1992 33 Sqdn was based at Odiham. They live at Benson now.

Interesting to see the variety of aircraft that were still in RAF and Royal Navy service in 1992.

And a bit more - this time from a display put on at Boscombe Down. Boscombe rarely opens its doors to the public so it was nice to get onto the airfield for a show. This was early "post Fall of the Iron Curtain" era so there was a good smattering of former Eastern Block aircraft on display as well as a nice selection from the test fleets of the RAE, A&AEE and the Empire Test Pilots' School.

Which team was displaying the Alouette, Eric? Was it the Dutch 'Grasshoppers' team? It's the only one I can think of, but Iwas sure they displayed with fewer than those six helicopters?

I'm pretty sure it was The Grasshoppers.

I'm sure you're right, as I looked for other teams that displayed the Alouette III, and none of those I could find info on showed more than a three-ship formation team. The Grasshoppers info said a four-ship team was the norm, but I suppose they may have taken a spare or two on a tour?

Nice to see the Boscombe Down stuff too. I was trying to work out what happened to that DH Devon. VP967 is in restored ground taxiing condition at the Yorkshire Air Museum, but VP968 shows as "derelict at Boscombe Down" or "scrapped" depending on where you look and what bit of the internet you believe...

Auto-GCAS Saves Unconscious F-16 Pilot—Declassified USAF Footage
https://youtu.be/WkZGL7RQBVw

You might have to watch this a few times to understand exactly what is happening but it's pretty impressive and no doubt a huge brown trouser moment for the pilot when he wakes up.

F16 at 17,000 ft, pilot pulls an 8.3G turn and blacks out (G-LOC)
aircraft then falls to the left and looks like it's dropping 1,000ft per every second.
Auto-GCAS (Automated Ground Collision Avoidance Software) kicks in at 8,000ft, levels wings and pulls a 9.1G return to level flight

The 3.08 one can't be real, but I assume it is. Astonishing.

Look at the shadows in relation to the suns position, I think there's something a little bit funny about the clip....

Not sure if this is the place to ask, but does anyone know where I can sell an aircraft propeller? I found it in my garden shed a while back. I need the money to repair my shed roof. biggrin

Post a picture then someone may help identify it to give a clue to its value.
