Pilot on individual oxygen supply, whereas the crew of the Junkers relied on aircraft pressurisation to breathe

I'd have expected the Dornier to have oxygen supplies as well, if only for emergency use, in the event of pressure failure. Perhaps not.

IIRC it took a lot of work to get the aircraft and camera correctly aligned with the sun at just the right moment to capture that image

Especially bombed and tanked up, I imagine.

Maybe all is not what it seems?

One white one is an A7 Corsair, slightly off white one is an F14.
There's also a Phantom and a Mirage up at the front and a Mig 17 (or just maybe a 15) at the back,

I’m reporting you for mistaking the two.

It’s unforgivable.

Orange one is a Mirage III. Or a Mirage 2000. Given the vintage of the others, and the canopy design, I am going with Mirage III.

Here's the formation from the side. Operation Bright Star 1983.

It's an Egyptian Mirage V SDE. They never operated the III, 2000 introduced in 1986.

Rats. Although I will claim that the the V is essentially a version of the III.
