Apparently there is a proposal to retrieve a load of Vikings from the desert and rebuild them as COD aircraft
They would be rebuilt with a new rear fuselage incorporating a loading ramp, and would replace the C-2
Unlike the alternative ( and much more expensive ) proposal of a version of the V-22, the Viking COD aircraft would be able to take a complete F-35 engine

Given they've spent megabucks updating the E2 airframe I'd have thought applying those to the C2 would be cheaper and would mean less spares inventory and training overhead on the carriers. They would be rebuilt with a new rear fuselage incorporating a loading ramp, and would replace the C-2

The over the top shark mouth paint scheme on a fighter plane brings out the fast car, fast jet, explosion loving child in me
Don't know if posted this before but it but this jets paint job made me laugh out loud with pleasure when I first saw it:
Also quite like this. Also an Atlas Cheetah (RSA development of the Dassualt Mirage) but painted with a cheetah colour scheme, shows the air force had a sense of humour
