That looks like a painting.

I don't recognise the type of aircraft.

Time and location of the photo is confusing me, that looks like a VW Type 2 on the right, so is this Germany in the 1950s?

It could be a Douglas DC-4 but the cockpit windows are all wrong.

It's either a painting or a heavily doctored photograph.

It's certainly not the Viscount prototype (The Vickers 630) -

And it's not an actual Douglas DC-4 -

It reminded me a bit of the SAAB Scania - but that was a twin engined aircraft -

And there was also the Armstrong Whitworth Apollo which was a rival to the Vickers 630 but never entered production -

The aircraft in the picture also seems to have radial piston engines. Both the Vickers 630 and Apollo had turboprops.

It’s a photo from the fifties and there’s a clue to the manufacturer in the bottom right hand corner...

Spot on. I was swatting up on the company history after buying Countess Agusta’s Lancia and spotted this. Pretty thing but probably alas no more.

Suspect not.

Agusta is a fascinating company. I spent a time in the helicopter business and trips to the old factories at Somma Lombardo and Cascina Costa and the flight test line at Vergiate were always a delight. Proper old school Italian Engineering & architecture. Never made it to the bike museum unfortunately.

To be honest, it's a type I'd never come across. It was obviously never put into production.

Looking at the Wiki data, it says it first flew in June 1958 and carried 26 passengers. If that is the case you can see why it was never going to sell. It looks more like a 1948 design than one from 1958.

Literally and figuratively:
