I wonder what the story behind this is
According to some random on Reddit -
Not as interesting as hearing it from the pilot himself, but I'll try my best. So he's out doing ground support with the GAU in an enemy village. Nicking off bad guys and such. Afterwards, when the ground troops came in to secure and get the final kill count, they found a cow blown to pieces by 30mm freedom hotdogs.

Also found this image of an A-10 with D-Day invasion stripes on the same thread which looks cool

I wonder what the story behind this is
We once painted a camel on the side of a 2(AC) sqn tornado out in a place called Ali al Salem, kuwait. The pilot was doing a practice gun run at the range and a camel got on the wrong end of a couple of rounds. We had a quick look at the hud camera when we heard about it. He did see the funny side of it. I’m sure someone got paid for the dead camel.

Not many built as it was not put into serious production. It was built as an insurance in case there were insurmountable problems with the more advanced B-29.

An F14 Tomcat photographed on the USS Theodore Roosevelt. So far so ordinary, except the photo is from this year. Any guesses why?
