It's a bit like Tex Johnson's rolling of the prototype Boeing 707 at a Seattle boat show.

He was told by the boss of Boeing, "Tex, that was very impressive - don't do it again".

Great (famous) picture - the actual plane is in the Udvar Hazy (Smithsonian) Museum just outside Washington:

It was quite a risky thing to do. I saw Hannah fly displays many times and they were all very exciting and relatively safely done. But they were generally over the airfield/aerodrome. This was down a start - finish straight with all sorts of obstacles quite close to the wing tips such as buildings, flag poles, towers and grandstands.
Isn’t it Hanna sans second h?

Morning, just discovered this thread, I usually lurk in the TVR forums but thought I'd share a picture of my 1960 Series 2 going to work with me one day a few years back.

Technically it's not really a 707. It was officially the Boeing 367-80 and served as the proof of concept aircraft for both the KC-135 tanker and the later 707 airliner. However, Boeing were already referring to their airliner project as the 707 so the 367-800 carried the registration N70700.

And sir, you are right and I got it wrong. Just something I never really thought about I guess.

It’s simply outstanding. I went there in the same week as Kennedy, Boeing and the Smithsonian on The Mall. So a Saturn V, two Space Shuttles, at least 3 Apollo capsules, Skylab, countless Geminis and Mercurys and lord knows what else in seven days. One of the best weeks in my life, and to top it off I was with my Dad!

Amazing to think they're both from the same era of design.

It's quite a good analogy. That version of the C130 is sort of the equivalent of the last of the Landrovers, The basic chassis is the same but with a few fancy materials stuck on and a lot more technology.

Of course it is. Eric should be more pedantic and less lackadaisical.
