I was wandering around Pateley Bridge this afternoon where there was a MG show, and part of the show was a aerobatics display.

My girlfriend asked me what plane that was, I didn't have a clue other than "stunt plane", but now it's really bugging me and I can't find an answer!

PH usually has an answer for the most obscure questions, surely that would be an easy one?

Oh and sorry, I didn't think of taking a picture at the time...

No idea if the aircraft on the leaflet is correct - but may help:

That's not the right aircraft on the leaflet. It was a single span plane (not sure about the specific terms, sorry), Spitfire shaped with square ended wings. Mostly grey or pale dark green. Equipped with a smoke trail thingy. It also sounded like I imagine a Spitfire would.

It's probably the Stuka Jerry couldn't account for in 1945...

Don't worry, pilot should be too old for aggression now...

That's why I was hoping to find somebody else who had seen the plane...

I remember the landing gear was retracted, and the wing tips were squarer.

Boats, aircraft and trains would do, then the woodworking bods wouldn't keep stumbling in wink
