I fly in and out of Dubai quite a bit and I actually try to stay clear of the A380, I've been on it a few times in both business and economy and for me it doesn't work on a couple of levels.
Airport gates etc aren't geared up for the traveller numbers, even Dubai which is prety new. It seems to take an age to get on and off the thing. Then when you get to passport control there is a huge backlog.
When you are in the air you can't get any peace (co won't run to one of the pods!), there is always a food service/ line for loo's/ announcements etc etc.
Give me the Boing 777-300 any day, leaves Dubai an hour after the A380 service but a lot less hassle
I use the 380 whenever possible. It is the quietest aircraft I have flown in (apart from a glider!).

If you use the IRIS system at LHR and the E-Gate at DXB along with an Emirates Gold card (or fly Business/1st) for lounge access at both ends there is no queueing, no waiting and no hassle.
You are me AICM5P!!!

I'm back on the BA 737 direct from Angola next month, I have a feeling it may be a bit of a comedown after the 380... even though it always seemed find when I used to use it!
I used to do the Luanda trip. TAAG to JNB and then a night at Titty Twisters before the early BA home. Happy days.

Hope PIA don't get the 380 and send it to Manch else the folks at the end of the runway may well end up bricking it laugh
Those PIA pilots certainly like to use the full length of the runway!!

I'm going to try and get some overhead shots from Bruntwood Park, about 1.5 track miles out, and then cycle over to the southside.
I work in Cheadle right on the flight path in, I hope the wind is in the right direction as it will come right over us if it is!
Same here, i work in Cheadle, i believe its due in today at 12:25 & departs 15:30

I flew on an A380 in March. Wasn't that impressed, the landing was bit ropey, much smoother in a little sea plane on a slightly choppy sea. Still, I suspect the pilot was holding back on the more spectacular manoeuvres.

Beast. Stood on the top of Werneth Low in the sun along with loads of spectators and watched it come in at lunchtime.

Not much in the way of mail delivered, criminals apprehended (or cars leased) at lunchtime today methinks.

Apparently it overshot its landing today and had to do a lap round before touching down at the 2nd go.

It was the wind apparently, too gusty for the first attempt, but I have since heard that the plane that did finally land today has gone tech.

Well flew on the A380 last week with singapore. Great experience, screens/seats are good (if firm) seemed like more room because the handset etc wa sint he seatback. Good size screen and power/usb etc.

Good food, 3 choices in cattle.

Didnt want to read about the 6 new Grand-Cru wines the suite rooms now have :O

Upper deck was about the quietest plane I have been on.
