Yes - Gemini had two outward hinging hatches. This allowed spacewalks to be made. With the doors closed down it was extremely claustrophobic - especially with an EVA suit on. Imagine spending 14 days couped up in that tiny space.

They must have photographed the L version and not the Ghia...
