I rounded off the bank holiday with a nice dram of cask 2; Dot Cotton's ashtray has rarely tasted so good. hehe

Yeah P10 is lovely.

I can only apologise again for the time taken. I can only guess that the patience needed to wait for fine new spirit to mature into fine whisky has rubbed on them... hehe

I just got a bunch of emails from UPS.

First instinct: SPAM

Tentatively clicked one and guess what they are?

Hm, need to try and work out your password so I can update the delivery address location, biggrin

Woo Hoo,

All bottles arrived safe and sound.
Had to take a dram tonight and I have to say it's DEFINITELY been worth the wait.

Looking forward to the next batch in another few years.

Thanks Lefty.

Really glad you enjoyed it!

I was drinking P10 last night, it's my favourite of the 3 so far, outstanding stuff!

Can I say what a true gent Balmoral is, he could well have snaffled my share, but instead offered to "drop it off" (basically a 120 mile round trip)
I'm not sure how we could make it happen due to me working, but a proper old school PHer beer

Returned from holiday to a box of goodness and an injured bat.

Unfortunately, I'd sampled the malt before finding the bat.

Malt excellent to my uncultured palette.
Bat contained in box and awaiting collection by bat experts.

Gents, as per last email contact, I understand that the preferred option was to pick up from me and redeliver to Shaw Tarse by courier, but I haven't heard anything. Who's organising it?

The longer it stays here, the greater the risk of..........drunk . hehe

Hi there,

Being in the business so to speak I have been giving loads of my contacts a wee dram of my PPX1 to try. The reaction from everyone has been very good.

Last night I received this from a friend who works for Gordon and Macphail : -

"I tried your whisky last night – it’s stunning. A really full mouthfeel and the softness of the peat works really well with the PX influence. There’s a youthfulness there but it doesn’t feel anywhere near 5yo, closer to 10. You’ve got yourself something special there!"

High praise indeed.

Regards

Tim

I don't even like whisky but I enjoyed reading through this thread. The organisation, the planning and then 5 years later the finished product to enjoy.

Hi there,

Had a semi professional photographer at work this week shooting some of our other spirits lines so grabbed the chance and got him to photograph a bottle of my PPX1. Have this shot as a permanent reminder of this superb product.

Click below if anyone fellow PPX1 owners want a hi res version

Hi Lefty! I've lost touch with this a bit, but I was on the list for a share of the peated bourbon cask (from September 2012, I think it was filled early 2013?) - are we looking at a 5 year aging for that cask too? Does that mean it'll be bottled next year?

Cheers!

Edit: Aha, found this - useful! Has there been some drama with cask 8?
