What's the plan on these then?

I'm not really fussed about bottling now or leaving it longer, just curious! Do we have a target of 10 years or so?

(Can't actually remember what cask I had a share in now!)

You have a share of cask 6 according to the holy writ. I'll give the Baron a nudge and see whether we've got a date yet for bottling, he said WB were snowed so it was likely to be towards February.

Let's get a date in the diary !
If we cant see the bottling (which is a real shame for those that haven't) then we could have a look around (tour) in the morning and then pick up bottles after.
I would drive up the day before and stay overnight in Newton Stewart so would welcome a evening meal like last time.
We could sample the Ben Nevis refill as well ?
Come on - let's get it done.

Thanks! Forgot to check back for any replies.

No urgency from me, was just curious!

From WhiskyBroker's Facebook page:

WhiskyBroker said:
There are 536 separate owners of around 23000 casks in our warehouse. All 536 should have received invoices today (sorry!) after what was an absolute marathon of a few weeks. We did a complete re-scan of every single cask which is no mean feat when it includes every 5 litre drum of cask leftovers. Then came the task of matching the scans against the details held on our system (including checking those scans which were corrupted by dirt or dust on the barcode card). This morning we had to make sure that the appropriate cask specification was linked to the corresponding invoice and then attach the three documents individually to 536 emails. Then we wait for the emails to bounce back from those people who’ve changed their email addresses in the past year and go hunting for new details. Ready for a few weeks off now!
So this should certainly identify if our missing cask is at Whisky Broker or if it never made it that far, if it even got filled by Glenglassaugh. Iain (Lefty2D/BaronVT), how are you getting on with sorting this missing cask out please? What comeback do we have if it never got filled? I'm guessing there are no 'consequential losses' that we can claim for and I'm guessing neither will we be able to get an octave cask filled 'now'.

I too saw the Facebook update from Whisky Broker - I cant believe how much it has grown since we were last there !
So without wanting to sound like a broken record please lets get a bottling date in the diary.
I really think the remaining casks need to be bottled as soon as possible, assuming they are ready which I would imagine they are.
I have been following other people's casks on various websites and Facebook pages and the Octaves can loose as much as 6-7% per annum, currently we have them at approx. 7 almost 8 years old.
They were filled in the summer of 2012 if I remember correctly ?
If we aren't careful there will be nothing left.
Be good to track down missing cask 8 as well.
Cheers all.

I thought we had booked a February bottling slot? (Earliest available in about October)

Ah, I guess life, work and lots of other things got in the way of me sending the forms to Lefty / Iain / BvT.
Guess I need to fill some forms in tonight and get them off to Iain so he can send them in to WhiskyBroker, working on the premise that Iain hasn't submitted them already???

I messaged the Baron last year but as I didn't get a reply I assumed he's snowed under with work, the North Sea does seem to be picking up a bit; anyone have more recent contact?

I wish I'd put my name down for all of these instead of just the one frown

Still, there's plenty in the shops.

Remember reading the thread when it appeared so many years ago. Was concentrating on paying down the mortgage with the aim to be clear by the time I turned 40, so didn’t have the spare cash to commit to this. (Did get the mortgage done, and it’s been a great feeling ever since!!)

However, I do wish I had put my name down for a cask, as I’m sure they will be unique and oh so tasty!

Did the penderyn tour last week (again), was looking at the offer from them. It’s all gotten a lot more expensive in the intervening years! Currently looking at just shy of £7k for the finished bottled cask (assuming 300 bottles)

Folks knowing we are all busy and looks also like the sporadic replies to the thread indicate this too, are we confident that the casks will be of a sufficient age to be ready? If so can we not just instruct them to bottle and send out? Not quite the same as visiting and tasting but I begin to wonder what/when this will happen, all the while the angels are getting s***tfaced !!

I'm happy to bottle up now, easy either way really.

For those mentioning about wishing to have got in on it, I'm sure I'll have a few bottles that can be sold/traded/etc.

Whiskybroker (I think the casks were stored there) has closed today until further notice. I guess between the time the economy is on hold and any queue to sort out bottling is done it could be at least 6 months to 1 year before any bottling?

I texted BVT last month and he'd sent the forms in, whether between then and now the bottling has occurred is anyones' guess, if not then it's an indefinite wait until the apocalypse is postponed.

You can still talk to them about buying casks etc, it's bottling that has stopped (due to combination of warehouse stuff and the paperwork needed). So it should be possible to check if they are bottled.
