They had Persian blue sea salt which I have only ever found in Harrods since then.
You can get this from Amazon, £5.50 for a small bag of coarse salt.

Not sure I'm that bothered about it, just thought it looked quite unusual. I should hope it is about 10billion time better than normal rock salt for that money!

I have picked up a 5 bird roast.

Duck
Chicken
Goose
Turkey
guinea fowl

Plus a pork stuffing.

It was with the 25% off voucher (showed up on the 5th Dec, fking voucher ran out on 6th).... so £7.50 for 1.5kg of meaty goodness.

Will report back on how dry it is.

Aldi mince pies 'for the win'...

Just incase they haven't been mentioned already. The red box ones are great ... 60-something pence or there abouts. (they also do budget ones, but they look flat, and they also do posh ones in a black box - not tried those).

I'm sure I remember there being a test in recent years and these came out better than the likes of M&S and waitrose.

Likewise Lidl's.

The only entrant to beat Lidl in a recent big mince pie group test was Harrods at £13 for 6.

Has anyone tried the vodka they have on offer for Christmas? i bought one for someone as a stocking filler as it was only £20 and the bottle looked nicehehe. However a quick google suggests its actually an award winning 4 times distilled 12 times filtered Russian vodka that normally sells for £35.

I know there are a few vodka fans on here but this does not seem to be selling well at my local Aldi, might have to pick one up for myself

Not tried the red box from Aldi, but the black box posh ones are fantastic - pastry is just right and they are nicely filled. Done my own taste test over the last 2 weeks or so and they are miles infront of M&S, Co-Op, Tesco Finest, Lidle cheapo, Mr Kippling. Bought half a dozen boxes Saturday instead of making our own this time round.

Whereas I think the blue box Luxury ones are the best. They have a frangipane and flaked almond topping, lovely.
