Only seen that once in store went back to get some and its all gone! Supposed to be very good.
Isn't it just gin mare. Nothing to do with Aldi just they sell it like others do ?Gin Mare is lovely, from Barcelona I think with mediterranean tones like olives etc. Bought a litre bottle back from Spain earlier this year and out of the 10 or so Gin's we have it is in my top 3.

Has anyone tried the Aldi premium gins? I normally drink Blooms and wondered how they stack up against it, specifically the Aldi Gin Mare.
The Gin Mare isn't an Aldi one, it's a brand from Spain. Hardly seen in this country and if it is it's over £40. It's fantastic (to me) but a bit of an acquired taste as it's quite herby, tastes very good with hardly any tonic.soxboy said:

Seeing as it's Christmas, I thought I'd see if Aldi did their own version of Bailey's. Quite surprised to find it at £3.75, and it's really nice, granted a bit sweeter than real Bailey's IIRC
Their premium "Baileys" is £6.99 and is as good as the real thing IMHO. I think that they only sell it certain times of the year though, Christmas being one of them. soxboy said:

lidl luxury stollen! lovely, with a bit of a rum kick.
Someone brought some of that into the office, very nice indeed. In fact a lot of the stuff brought in was from Lidl, to much general approval, which seeing as they didn't spot it as Lidl roundly gave the sniffy Lidl knockers "Oh we shop at Waitwose" yummy mummies a swift kick on the shins.
