Picked up a bag of poverty wine gums by mistake (meant to grab 2 bags of Maynards and the 2nd pack turned out to be Sugarland). Have to say they are very good, far more chewy than the Maynards and a range of good strong flavours. And the bag is filled much fuller despite being more or less the same size for less money too.
For balance tried the Aldi version last night, poor effort from them. Nowhere near as chewy and a more chemically type of flavour. Also left a nasty claggy coating in the roof of the mouth. Sugarland all the way!
Also quite like the Rheinbacher - 4 cans for £3 is not to be sniffed at!

What was the Vino like? Was it worth every penny?(And did you read the post accompanying the pic?)

I bought it at 8.30 this morning. What kind of aspersions are you casting?
(And did you read the post accompanying the pic?)
0830! Again some of us have jobs to go to. I’d saved lives by then. (And did you read the post accompanying the pic?)
I saw this on Saturday and thought of you
I went to buy Gin. There was none left. I do hope they re-stock before Christmas.
PS Loving the thermals V8mate.
I don’t actually physically save lives. Just on paper maybe
Today was a definite Gin day :’(
I’m off until Monday now and it’s been snowing in Cambridge and Peterborough and apparently heading this way so I stopped at Aldi on the way home for supplies. I’m sorted.
Also picked up one of their real Christmas trees. Can’t wait for the cats to nest in it, destroy the lights and toy with the trinkets.

Are you sure the gin will last? Also picked up one of their real Christmas trees. Can’t wait for the cats to nest in it, destroy the lights and toy with the trinkets.

Watching with interest
Wine verdict: it's very nice. It was actually a little too light for steak though. Would be better with pork or lamb (as it recommends in the little hangy booklet thing)
Is it worth eleven quid though?
No. At £7, or even £8, I'd be very happy to partake a batch purchase. But clearing the ten quid mark, I'd be more drawn to even a bargain basement Crozes Hermitage before this.
30 day steaks were great. Even though they were a very good thickness, they cooked very quickly, so careful if you prefer your cow only lightly tanned.
(Aldi chestnut mushrooms are super tasty at the moment!)
