Ron Mulata? I had some of that from Aldi a couple of years ago, pretty decent.
Picked up a bottle of this tonight, better than I remember.

Also got some of the French gin to try tomorrow.

The 1978 Armagnac seems to have found its way into my basket this evening. Really very good.

There is a new Aldi store being built opposite my office at the moment.

I am looking forward to trying your recommendations in the new year.

Not food related but has anyone else gone for an Aldi Christmas tree? Got one last night £19.99 for a 6'.

Also doing 5' ones for £14.99.

A little bit on the thin side, hopefully will last the distance. Photo to follow.

Some interesting beers on the shelf of my local Lidl, not sure if it is just part of the Xmas build up or an ongoing thing.

5’ one - went in to its stand last night to be decorated today. It’s perfect shape. Not thin at all. Will post another photo when finished. If I get a chance before, well, THEY destroy it...

Shaw Tarse in answer to your question, no. I’m off to Aldi in a bit to see if there’s any Gin left - see above.

I was really disappointed with the wagyu ribeye from Aldi. It had very little flavour.

I won't bother again.
I've never been impressed by anything with the 'wagyu' banner. I've always found their regular, superior product to exceed it.
I've only tried wagyu burgers from Aldi, well that's the only wagyu I've ever tried.

I found burgers tasty enough but quite fatty. Prefer the Angus or the hogroast burgers they were doing.

Just picked up a couple of boxes of these from Aldi, 90g at £1.49. Long gone are my Bond St shopping days at Charbonnel & Walker for around £15 per 100g.

Alas no Gin left in my local Aldi so stopped at a Co-Op on the way home and used an old double discount card and £8 dividend to pick up 70cl of Tanquery for £6.40.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I found some very nice wine in my local store. I went back a couple of times and it did not reappear. I was trying to gather information to ask if a friend could check her local branch and discovered this;-

So you can buy decent bottles of wine and have them delivered to your door for free.

Picked these up for kids to eat whilst decorating the tree. Often concerns me when something fresh has such a long sell by date but they weren’t too bad, apparently the Stilton and Apricot one was good... I can tell because when I went to have some it was almost all gone! Around £2.50. Also cooked up some of the frozen Cumberland Sausage Rolls, something like 85p for 50 - they must’ve tasted ok too rolleyes

Bought these last Christmas, glad they’re back on sale again this year. Both great, but especially the chocolate orange.
I can confirm the chocolate orange ones are delicious. Also bought some of the almond mince tarts, not tried these yet though.

The chocolate orange, sloe gin and almond ones are lovely. The gingerbread ones are quite unpleasant. I haven’t found any salted caramel ones yet.

Have you tried them yet? I bought the strawberry cream ones and I was disappointed, couldn't taste much strawberry at all. ( I had hoped they would taste like the strawberry creams that Black Magic do),

Had the chocolate orange ones.. don't know if I got a bad box but the chocolate in them wasn't very nice - very overcooked and bitter and they weren't very well filled

I'm the can't have one will finish the box type hehe so instead I go for the mini deserts which are lovely and only 200ish calories, will be trying the larger boxes at xmas when more people are around though.

I'm assuming these have been mentioned in the 148 preceding pages.... but the Belgian Chocolate Moose's are fantastic.
