The big daddy steaks are back in stock.

Picked up 2 this morning.

also the treacle bacon is back in. Got a packet. By far one of the nicest bacons you can get in a super market, None of that horrible white liquid qhwn you cook them.

Still at £19.99 in mine this morning.

Every now and then you have a really disappointing shop at Aldi and today was one of those times.

Lots of things not fresh; old stock holding up newer stuff being put out. Manufacturers changed to save Aldi 0.5p, but which entirely ruin a product for the punter. New lines you bought the week before and enjoyed not kept in stock. And I must have missed out on the chunky steaks^ too.

  • sigh*

I nearly posted something similar last night after I popped in after work. I stood at the till with a proper heartache and sinking feeling for the first time ever (in Aldi). Even the six tins of cat food just weren’t doing it for me.

Big Daddy steak for high tea tonight. Not the tastiest steak ever, but enjoyed it, quite ok for 4.99.

On the subject of Aldi shredded Kale, and the de-healthification thereof, toss it in a bit of olive oil and a ridiculous amount of sea salt and chilli flakes, spread it out over a baking tray and lob it in the oven for a short while.

Divine.

All of your 5-a-day, whilst crucially ensuring that you won't get any healthier.
Amen. My version tonight is fry oil/garlic, lob greens in, boil in a bit of stock and then plate and grill with cheese.

However, if ever a picture was missing bacon....

Can you highlight to her that the Aldi baking paper doesn't say if bleached or unbleached unlike other retailers.

The stalks! The stalks!

Exactly my gripe^^. Because they just mince the whole bush, you get a plateful of stalks.

Spotted this in the 'Christmas remains' section in Aldi. Not reduced, but only £5.79. First mouthful was a bit odd (oo'er, missus) but after that, sooooo smooth. 2013 jobbie.

A bottle of Barefoot Merlot negates such concerns.
