I’ve tried a few of these Mas wines from France in Aldi, but this is the first time I’ve seen this one.

Grenache Noir (I presume Grenache / Pinot Noir) is a new blend of grape types I’ve not seen before, so decided it needed to be tried. It was the only bottle left...

Quite drinkable, not as light as a pure Pinot Noir, but not as heavy as a Cab Sav or Merlot.

Quite fruity too...

I detest 'factory bread', but always keep a loaf of their large malted bloomer around. Always rummage around for the freshest (should have 4 days on it).

It's really thick cut, so good for a man-sized sandwich when it's perfectly fresh, but ace for toast for days thereafter.

Did a very quick shop yesterday- stuffed mushrooms for Mrs SW and steaks for me and the boy. A couple of bottles of Wild Bill’s IPA and some Wychwood Longneck. Plus a couple of the kids’ England rugby t shirts from the weekly special offers range.

We’ve done dry January so I need to do a big booze run especially as the wine range looks to have expanded this season.

I use Lidl flour in this https://www.panasonic.com/uk/consumer/home-applian... makes perfect bread, even sourdough.

Yeah, I've been toying with getting myself one; got it lodged with camelcamelcamel for the next price promotion.

noticed yesterday Aldi are now doing pork sausage breakfast patties, 6 for a quid 40. had one this morning in a muffin with an egg and put a slice of cheese in there. made for a very good approximation of a mcdonalds sausage and egg mc muffin . very tasty.

Brilliant, I'll pop in later and pick some up for tomorrow. I've had the Tesco ones and they are smashing, so hopefully these will be, too. Are they in the frozen or chilled area?

I've tried the Tesco ones and also the Heck ones in the past. Neither matched the lust-filled, pork-grease-dribble of the mighty Maccy D sossidge.

Will give the Aldi ones a go though, in the interests of science thumbup

Nothing can beat an offering from one of Ronald's golden arched drive-thru's, but it is nice to be able to whip up a similar sense of occasion in ones own kitchen.

Anyone bought a bag of Aldi's frozen mixed vegetables?

Recalling 40,000 packets of the stuff due to 3 complaints of bits of dead rodents in them. Environmental health involved.

It’s the big 1kg bag and the batch was only sold in the south west fr M the 4th of January according to the direct tweet response I got.

There is no recall and currently using a new supplier but they will refund/exchange for anyone who wants to.

New ones have a clear window in and now have peas in them.

Exactly! Its a sign the veg was fresh if the rodents were taking their pick first.

Saw these in the freezer, wife was with me, so couldn't sneak them in this time.
