Calamari & scampi from the fridge section was decent enough last night. Was expecting the squid to be tough as old boots but not at.
Also the peri-peri lemon & herb sauce made a great marinade for chicken the other night, much better than Nandos' equivalent.

Tesco's, the highest quality mince you can buy?
Tesco buy all the best meat?
Tesco beef sold as 'the world's premium beef'? Not even Argentinean is sold as the world's premium beef.
NI beef is very fatty , which is why it's so good?
% fat indicator is not a quality guide?

Are you aware that you have posted this drivel?
Do you not read it back and say to yourself , 'hmmm, something here doesn't add up'?
Tbh I just read it and thought, "Seems as if Ireland and Tesco have employed a few Russian trolls who have become available since news from Salisbury died down."

Anecdotally, some time ago we had some Irish beef from Tesco, very poor.

No, I haven't read it back, especially since you haven't read it either, at least within the correct context.

Maybe you should read it again and come back with what bits you think I've got wrong.

Can we get back to people popping in for a loaf of bread but coming out with a step ladder, Bluetooth speaker and a selection of cold meats rather than bhing about Tesco mince?

So your commenting on my thoughts from a post which takes my comments massively out of context.....

So you've had Irish beef and it was poor. That is entirely possible, considering Irish suppliers were caught trading horse meat as beef before. We do have more than one farm over here though, so maybe you didn't get the good stuff smile

I had removed myself from the thread until someone twisted my comments, I'm quite happy to stay out and just lurk, but I'll reply to people quoting me.

Not at that price but they are the cheapest if you do want free range at £3.29 a kilo but they never seem to be a decent size frown

Tried out the medium and lemon and herb peri peri sauces last night. Just as tasty as the Nando's stuff and mucho cheaper.

Nah, just taking the gentle piss out of someone serially derailing the thread and who does seem to have some issues.

Now can we get back to popping into Lidl for some fresh bread and their lemon curd iced buns from the bakery and then having to explain to 'er indoors why we really needed a chain saw and a canoe.

Has anyone else tried the Aldi noodles? At 24p a pack (I think, might be 34p) they're not a bad but much cheaper alternative to a Pot Noodle. I've no idea whether they're good for you or nutritious (who cares?) but as a quick lunchtime 'filler' they'll do me.

Had the Nando’s stuff in Nando’s over the weekend for the first time in a while and was pretty disappointed in comparison.

Err, that's rather more down to how you cook it, than who supplied it!
Even squid at mutliple Aldi prices from F&M or Harrod's food hall will be rubbery if it's overcooked, eh. smile

Loving the seafood bit in Lidl’s in Portugal. Prawns by the scoop full. Wine is disturbingly cheap even more so on the discount shelf - 99€ cents for a bottle.

Yes of course I bought some just to see.

I wasn’t allowed to buy any power tools as apparently a pillar drill would fit in the luggage. (Didn’t need to could have checked it separately and I’ve already got one but that’s not the point.)

The Aldi packet / sachet Cup noodles are pretty good - Chicken and Tomato & Herb. They just need a while to rehydrate in the mug (ideal with a bit of their malted bloomer, award winning bread).

Not tried their actual 'Pot Noodle' (Not Poodle) shady alternative yet though if thats the one you mean.

Bugger. Just bought the medium one. School boy error.

Just bought another four packets. .24p each.
