The range of sliced bloomers in Aldi (white, tiger, honey seeded and malted) at 99p are exceptionally good (for 'mass produced' bread).

The latter - malted - is fantastic for sandwiches and toast alike, but all are yummy.

Circumstances put me in a Waitrose this morning, and I noticed that the bakery which provides those^ loaves to Aldi is now available in Waitrose under their primary brand. At nearly half as much again at the tills!

Brains chocolate coffee beer, I think 99p. I don’t drink coffe or eat chocolate but this was a cracker!

Not sure if these offers were nationwide but my local Aldi had lots of pet stuff at bargain prices. I sold a second hand dog crate for £25 last year or so. £9.99 for these was an absolute bargain! Even the before prices must be half original price?

They also have this in. Has anyone tried them?

Bit too rubbery for my liking.

Agee it’s good. I add a bottle of this to chilli when I make it.

Also good but now unavailable was the Mud City Stout brewed, I think, by Sadler’s.

Realise this might get me a thread ban, but Tesco Oat and Barley loaf. Definitely worth a punt.

Agree about the Aldi sliced bloomer offering, though aren't they all thick sliced? Lidl MultiGrain sliced isn't too bad either. At least when we are out of home baked stuff.

Is that one from the chilled section (rather than frozen in a box)?

Sounds good whats on it?

...I wish they would bring back their Sloppy Joe Pizza - its was awesome.. needed a bit of pimping with a handful of cheese and a few peppers, but still awesome.

Other way around, it's in the frozen section, about £1.80. It's spicy with a lot of meat on it. It's not on their website for some reason.

I was having a good rummage through the pizza freezer just the other for something new - didn't spot that one though. I do like the american hot one - but I'll have a better look this week - cheers.

Not food, but has anyone tried the rip off Jo Malone stuff? It’s good enough for the price. Was very impressed.

Food wise their 99p Genoa ham is pretty tasty for sandwiches.

It's fantastic. LadyV8 has been a long standing customer of JM, but loves Aldi's moody lime, basil and mandarin products.

Lidl stuff but they are trialling 5kg boxes of damaged/wonky fruit and veg for £1.50. It's at 122 Lidl stores, but I can't see a list of which ones anywhere.

It's on sale between 0800 & 1000 hrs, if you manage to find where it's sold.

I can't find it anywhere - checked fresh and frozen, but no black box Etna in my store.

We've just had a store refit and today they had the fullest range I've seen, really tidy too... however one thing our Aldi does suffer from: Stinky Shoppers (and I mean... stink the whole aisle stinky!!).

I've had to come home and burn the toast just to get the smell out of my nostrils. That award winning malted bloomer is excellent though thankfully.
