Picked one up yesterday. £1.89 I think. They were in the freezer next to the regular stonbaked ones. To be honest I wasn’t looking for it, trying to find something else for one of my fussy lads. It was rather lost in the cabinets and otherwise unnoticeable.

Cheers Gretchen

Damn that looks good. As I mentioned above I've been really impressed with some of their thin crust pizza offerings - especially when you add another handfull of cheese and few coloured bell peppers.

Anyway.. I'll keep your visual reference handy and try looking once again!

Had the Halloumi fries the other night, very good.

I'm a bit of a fan of the ham off-cuts too, for value for money they're great, especially if you're making sandwiches for a group.

I keep getting drawn to the ice-cream section, the oreo cookie (style) ice-cream sandwiches are ace, but the chocolate chip cookie ones are even better.

Why does it say on the box “a typically hot.....” does it vary? rofl

It's 'Spanish Week' in Lidl this week.

Their microwave tapas at 99p/pack are exactly the same as those sold in Waitrose for £1.99.

I also highly rate the chick peas in jars for 59p. They're huge and soft; make wonderful hummus.

I've been disappointed with Aldi's claims of hot & spicy food before ie: the Ghost Chilli Sausages.. very well presented, but I've had hotter flavoured Monster Munch!

Just had some of the Heck 97% bangers. We are disappointed with them, tasteless, back to the butcher's offerings.

surely a banger is meant to be something that's more fat/weird stuff with rather low meat? seems odd for them to call them bangers. sounds like it's too lean of a sausage to be tasty.

It's me calling them bangers not Heck. Makes me wonder what their lean version of these are like, probably like eating a stick.

Speaking of Heck read they were taking action against Aldi for rip off copycat product packaging.

They never have those fries in stock at my local. Any tips, are just out on certain days?

Aldi do their own moody Heck chicken sossidges from time to time. With the Italian herbs, usually. Very good value.

They're in a black box about the size of 3/4 of a house brick. They're frozen, and the two times I've found them they have been lurking pretty close to the frozen chips, but not immediately obvious. There weren't many in stock, so they were down the bottom of the freezer.

They seem to be in stock every time at my local one now.

They were between the frozen oven chips and the Sweet Potato Fries in my local. However there hadn’t been any in stock since launch day and a few weeks ago the price barker was removed.

Jamaican Jerk Sausages in Aldi. Pretty good.

Current sausage champion in our house is the Black Gate Signature range from Makro. £10 for 36 and they're brilliant.

Today was a good day biggrin

Also bought some Halloumi to make my own, which was a lot cheaper than all the other supermarkets at £1.50 a go.

Are they chips with a haloumi coating, or haloumi with a coating?

Haloumi with a coating. I'm going to try deep frying some this weekend. The hot and spicy buffalo chicken wings were in this evening and I'm trying that 1079 Project lager.
