Try searching Crofton for other stuff.
Just picked up some saucepans and a griddle from Aldi Stockport. Quite a bit of choice.
Seems v cheap to me.

Aldi chicken tempura fillets are bloody lovely. had them tonight with Aldi oven chips and Aldi beans. Couldn't tell any difference from Heinz beans to be honest.
I'd be disappointed if I couldn't tell the difference with Heinz Beans, they're the most tasteless things going these days.

Aldi's own version of Nutella is indistinguishable from the real thing by our ultra fussy son.
A third of the price from memory as well.

Agreed. Have you tried the fish in seasoned coating? Not the long pieces but they are irregular sizes, two to a pack. We have them with new potatoes and veg, very nice indeed.
I find Aldi ketchup to be tasteless though. I prefer to buy Heinz in Poundstretcher etc.when it's on offer.

Both equally nutty though.

Certainly different textures, but I switch back and forth between them quite happily, buying Nutella when it's on special and Nutoka when it's not.

Seconded for the chickensmile have you tried the MASSIVE chips? In the black & gold bag...they’re like bricks & very tasty. Lidl Thai green curry very nice & also pork schnitzel
Thirded, my youngest loves them.

Aldi's snide Mini-Cheddars, ste. Just taste like crackers or a poor Ritz.

Off-piste but I tried a "new" cut of steak from Sainsbury's the other night. "Picanha" popular in Brazil apparently...yummy!

British Ale pack at Lidl Germany this past week
bottle of 'Lancaster Bomber' in the middle of it, that should go down well all over the Ruhr valley

Reminds me of a conference call with a German colleague from Dusseldorf. While waiting for others to join the call, I commented how nice the town was, especially the Altstadt.

He said, "well it was all nice, until you bombed it in the war"

Not to mention the kids mini disco at the hotel in Majorca. UK and German guests mainly. Every night they would play "I am the Music Man" which is the one which goes "I am the Music man, and I can play.... the big trombone" and then everyone has to mime playing a trombone, and so on, through trumpets, bass drums etc.

All goes swimmingly until it gets to "I am the Music Man, and I can play.... the Dambusters" at which point the Dambusters theme music fires up, all the kids run around arms outstretched, making bomber noises, and of course the German kids do it too, until their parents drag them off the dance floor. Childish, funny, but childish.

Dilema...

My local Aldi is closing for 5 days for a refurb ahead of a new Lidl opening 1/4 mile up the road!

What to stock up on... no eggs and not much fresh stuff.

Rather a few years ago Brands Hatch hosted an international Formula Bee festival with entrants for all over Europe including Germany one unlucky driver pulled in on fire near our rescue unit , fire was put out and driver was grateful as we sat him in the unit to wait for the end of the race as it was raining.
He said how far he had come for this race from Dresden , "Dresden?" pipes up a young crew member "My Grandfather went there in the war"
" ah" says the German "was he part of the liberation?"
"No" came the reply "he was a bomb aimer in a Lancaster !"
twas very quiet from there on in , until he got out!

Frozen pizza, obvs.

Five days scoffing pizza three times a day will be fine.

Isn't it BBQ weather for a day or three? So steak, burgers, etc.

How hard can it be?
