Whilst it's pretty hard to buy a bad pizza in Aldi, these two new ones are a superb addition to their frozen range.

Lovely, crisp bread and really well loaded toppings. Also a third, veggie one in the range, for the social pariahs.

The calabrese salami is brilliant, the mango is not my thing.

Perpetually sold out at my local

Weirdly, it tastes kinda 'Thai green curry'.

The Calabrese one is certainly the better of the two, but I'd gladly eat the chicken one again.

Ventured into Tesco for the first time in a year tonight( 10 miles to empty on the trip computer) sweet & sour chicken & chicken in black bean with rice was spot on! Rarely I buy ready made stuff but I think this where Aldi/Lidl miss out a bit

All is right with the world once more. My local Aldi has reopened.

Not food but this seems a bit steep for Aldi!

Non-circular pizza = extremely posh.

Bet they aren’t £1.39?

£1.69, I think?

The salami one was a proper premium product. I wouldn't have been upset if I'd paid £4.

I'll borrow 30p from the kids' shoe fund and give it a whirl then.

I think it needs less than 14 minutes it was a bit too biscuit like for me

Mine was spot-on at 14 minutes - though 'ovens vary', obvs.

Bear in mind, it's not a pizza. Much closer in base texture to an Alsace Flammkueche. Almost Cream Cracker-y hehe

What are folks opinions on the Lidl Sourdough Chorizo, Caramelized Onions and Spinach Pizza? I thought it was OK, I would have again, family less sure, but we prefer your home made ones Dad! Thanks for that folks, but you don't have all the buggering around making them do you? You just sit and wait for it to come out of the oven and scoff it while I'm doing the next one. :grump:

Thanks guys. It was worth a stop off for you lot.

Picked up some bits in Poundstretcher next door too

If anyone knows anywhere cheaper, and not in bulk, let me know.
If you've got a JTF Warehouse nearby they're currently £2.99.

My local Aldi seems to have refreshed the packaging on some of their items. The German smoked Brunswick ham seems to be a different design and some of the bottled ales have changed. The Ghost Dance here is new (and very good) whilst the Porter looks to have replaced the old Spill The Beans Coffee Porter.

Aldi steaks are great. Rib eye is my usual choice. The 28 (32 now?) day aged £4.50 ones are great and even the 21 day ones are pretty good. Bought some sandwich steaks there the other day too, and was impressed.

Lidl for black pudding though.

Neither have got bacon just right yet.

By coincidence, we had the 36 day aged rib eyes for dinner tonight.

Now, a couple of years ago we had dinner in a very agreeable pub in Ross-On-Wye and Mrs O ordered a T-bone. I had a taste, and I swear it was THE best steak I have ever tasted. It was dynamite.

Aldi's 36 day rib eye is a very close second.
