Went to buy this today. The label looked different - didn’t have ’Duro’ written on, but the shelf label did. Lady working there said it’s the same, but I’m not sure.

There was a couple of bottles of the ‘Duro’ at the back, so a grabbed a couple of each for comparison.

At first glance I thought ‘good work’ and that this was your shopping on the till belt...

San Miguel 660ml for £1.49 a bottle which I thought was pretty good.

Don't be phased by the Douro / Portugal label. Its the same blended wine from the same region but I don't think the 2017 isn't as good as the previous year(s).

For £5 a bottle I really struggle of to think of much better.

I’ve had a drink I admit. But I’m struggling to understand. Is it. Or isn’t it. As good as previous years?

See that's what it does to you, the 2017 makes me incapable of typing sense!

Should say I don't think the 2017 is as good as the previous years.

Still. not bad and just managed to polish a bottle off with dinner drink

I’ve said it before but the Italian sodas are back in.

Lemon and mint makes a nice no effort mojito

My local has the Origin Pure organic with no added sulphur wine back in. It's a Cab Sav, South African Red, pretty good value at around £5 a bottle for an organic wine tbh.

Good to know. We've had a few bottles since the earlier recommendation, and spotted the difference on the label, and wondered the same. It is a lovely drop.

Like you, I bought a bottle of this on the post-Christmas sale when it was part of a gift box with a bar of plain chocolate. It is lovely, shame there was only one bottle of red left.

Another fan here, along with the Toro Loco Organico. Both are a decent red at a budget price.

Opened my last £3.50 bottle last night frown

Still have endless chocolate so no idea how well it was paired...?

Wish I seen it at that price. It was still £9 last time I saw it. The chocolate is lovely as well.

I ventured in to Aldi last night and bought their chicken jalfrezi plus poppadoms and come mango chutney

I was pleasantly surprised - the jalfrezi was pretty good.

Was this a pre-made one? The Jalfrezi in a jar, the ones with a spice pot on top, is far hotter than any Jalfrezi I've ever had. Too hot for my taste.

I've just opened a bottle. There's nothing to say what it is exactly other than red wine, classification wise it looks to be nothing more than table wine. It's not bad stuff, but I think the £5 Peuceta Primitivo from Lidl is much better.

That powder has a real kick, far too hot unless I’m really in the mood. I use half in the curry and keep the rest as seasoning for chicken, fish, etc

Tell me about it. The last one I too tried half the powder, still on the hot side, but not as hot as the first one, which I left!
