Ditto. Left a few packets in store as I don't want to be the one to make some poor soul desperate for an Apple Pie Cookie fix go cold turkey.

Best before 29-03-2020. Ha! - they'll be lucky to make it as far a Sunday morning.

Nom nom nom nom.

This is the sort of behaviour that gets generations of families ostracised from villages in Switzerland.
As with the yellow label bargains at an unsuspecting M&S food hall, the only rule is leave a pack of each so that the more sloth like shoppers realise they need to pull their socks up next time if they want more biggrin
managed to avoid buying more of these by having no change for a trolley for the last 2 weeks, basket shop means no room for frivolous purchasing!

I grabbed one of the Big Daddy steaks this morning - the cuts looked pretty good, though the proof will only ever be in the eating/

This thread is very testing at times. Managed to get through Christmas without a single packet of stollen, amazingly, torture, very close to breaking at times.
I still haven’t broken. I’m fact I’ve chocolate from Mother’s Day and Easter still. Unless the kids have found it scratchchin and have even avoided less than half price Easter reductions! Which is a first for me. Including those all chocolate faux Deluxe Hot Cross Buns (I did buy these at full price for my parents who seemed to enjoy them)

Picked up some 50% off burgers from the Aldi chiller last night with today’s date. Few packs of the West Country Cheddar ones, some Caramalised Onion, Minted Lamb and the ones with the Marrow in. Have gone in the freezer so no doubt I’ll forget about them and miss the one day of BBQ Summer weather remaining.

Of course I left a pack of each. I’m nice like that.

It's just like I went into Asda the other day, (several other PH posters now mark my record with 'council ) to stock up on packets of Assam tea, down from £5 to £3. I left one box, I'm also nice like that.

Though perhaps not that nice as it was the box that I left behind a good few months back during the last promotion as it looked as if it had been dropped out of a Chinook helicopter and then run over by a Challenger main battle tank. paperbag

Just picked up a Big Daddy steak and the Ghost Chilli Burgers, and another 4 packs of the Apple Pie cookies as my personal stash has had some attrition.

Steak later.....

Can anyone recommend me some good sub-£5 red wine at Aldi please?

Quick - I'm leaving in 15 minutes!

Cheers.

My current quaffing favourite too. Even better once it's been open for a day - if you can make it last that long!

Sarah can make a bottle last weeks, she's a light drinker. If of cause she hides it so I don't quaf it!

I haven't read the whole thread and have no intention of doings so but I will keep up from now on.

Has the bread been covered? The only bread I ever buy these days is Aldi seeded bloomers. Lovely stuff!

Malted bloomer for me, with a tiger bloomer on the side at the weekend. They're a great range!

Yes, malted Bloomer, that's the one. I just tried the Honey one but couldn't really taste much of a difference, so that's fine too.

I hate you guys. I saved up all my Carb allowance and summoned the will power to purchase these and just have the one...
Alas it wasn’t to be. I couldn’t find the bds! I swear I saw them a week or so ago scratchchin so I pulled this thread up on my phone and showed the till assistant. I even mentioned those who were stock piling and joked she needs to restrict purchases. A comment was even passed about my Aldi I only went in for Milk bag. We laughed. But it was no consolation and I left with Lidl with a bag of Spinach. Lidl. FFS they’re an Aldi product aren’t they rolleyes

I had to get a fresh pack of the Apple Pie Cookies out of the stash to inspect the packaging, and in the process....

(nom nom nom nom)

...they appear to be Dutch in origin, Merba B.V., Wilhelminakanaal Nord 2, 4902 VR Oosterhaut...

(nom nom nom nom)

....no mention on Aldi branding, but they appear to export worldwide given the number of translations on the packaging.....

(nom nom nom nom)

..and there goes 3/4 of another pack...

(nom..nom)

In fact, only two left..(nom)..one..(nom)...gone. Empty.

Damn you, Merba B.V.....and just wondering what sort of discounts they do for standard ISO container sized shipments on these things.

Picked up a few of these Big Daddy steaks also, how the hell do you cook them so they turn out the way you like them? Obviously they're much thicker than the typical steak. Was thinking pan then oven to finish?
