Indeed. I'm sure the supermarkets have done the sums and it is cheaper to bin the contents on one or two days a year rather than have heftier fridges or lose sales on the other 363 days a year if you hid things behind doors or panels.

My local Lidl has glass doors on the meat and milk fridges, everything else is open shelved. High value stuff protected a bit more I thought but then the milks behind glass as well. Must be some logic.

The ALDI equivalent to Pimms (Watsons?) is on offer in our local at £4.99 - Quite an acceptable substitute - Also, we discovered a "Honey soaked seeded Bloomer" which is sliced very generously indeed- It is without equal when toasted........

Austin’s. It’s been on offer for a few weeks. Picked another bottle up this afternoon.

It's a rosé wine from Aldi called 'Sud de France'.

£5.49 or £5.99 - can't remember. But top VfM either way.

I love my Lidl but one thing gets on my knockers - it has an irregular number of isles so in order to enter and go up and down every one you end up in the top corner of the store, opposite to the checkouts. There is only one entrance and one way to start the journey so no real way of avoiding it.

Dont buy the bbq charcoal. It's awful . Smokes like hell and doesnt get hot. £2.79 a bag. They are briquettes. Better off with lumpwood.
Sainsbury's are the charcoal kings at the moment. The 9kg lumpwood for £8.

Still a pain in the arse to eat though.

I like spaghetti how the toddlers get it in ready meals - in chopped sections about an inch long so I can eat it with a fork and stand a chance of not getting covered in bloody sauce.
Got to be long for me, especially if it's with meatballs so you can roll the meatball up in the spaghetti. Just wear a trendy bib to prevent any stains from splashing sauce, maximum taste and a cool look biggrin
Perhaps SpeckledJim's username stems from earlier wayward long spaghetti eating attempts?
I do tend to make a bit of a mess.
Too much/too sloppy sauce.

The Aldi I go to is the same, you can cut across half way down the aisle of dreams though.

Yup. In my local Aldi it’s the same. I do a final sweep down the far-most aisle from the entrance (jam, eggs, biscuits and bread products) and it brings me out to the left of the tills. It makes me want to do another circle of the offer aisles.
