Has anyone tried the chicken king kebab thing from the frozen section?
i saw that too, not sure what to make of it...

reviews are good might try it

https://www.aldi.co.uk/peri-peri-chicken-king-keba...
Had the peri peri one which was ok, once cooked I would recommend turning up the heat and watching it crisp up as for me it missed the proper crisping
We had this last night with the harissa folded flatbreads they sell. Quite nice, plenty of flavour. Would be nicer done on the BBQ.

No Welsh burgers in my local yet.

What are they, beef and rarebit? Or lamb (original) and something?

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned but the frozen yoghurts are really good, mango and honey flavours. The salted caramel tastes if neither!

If you think the Lidl version is good then you should try the Waitrose version - far, far better and worth the extra cost.
Probably about as welcome on this thread as a bacon sarnie in Tel Aviv

Well if you like the Aldi Côtes-du-Rhône you really should get yourself a nice bottle of Châteauneuf-du-pape.

I do like Aldi CdR and I still have a few bottles of La Millière CdP I bought at the vineyard last year and will be getting more next month, not sure it will go too well with my bacon sarnie ;-)

Tesco Jumbo Oats are best smile
Will try those.
Holy best oats topic resurrection :-)

Tesco stopped selling their excellent own brand jumbo oats about a year ago. Since then MrsIA2 has scoured the country for suitable replacement oats. She nearly gave up but recently she came across Mornflake Jumbo Scottish Oats. They are excellent, possibly and even better than Tesco's offering.

They are pretty cheap and readily available.

Excellent, thanks for that, I refer the honourable gentleman to my previous response. hehe

Looks good value indeed, £2 on offer at Morrison's for 1.5kg versus £1.70 for our regular Sainsbury's TTD, but only 0.75kg there. Tried the Irish stuff, didn't get on with it at all at all.

Quite like the pulled pork in a box (choo choo) for a quick, dirty dinner in the brioche buns.

I have that sometimes and do some sweet potato wedges too. if i dont use brioche buns i have the wholemeal ones which are lovely.

The cajun pork steaks are the b*ll*x too, grill them and then microwave at work with some new potatoes and veg. Bang on.

The Cajun chicken (2x in a tin type package) are ace too.

I cook them in a griddle pan and serve as chicken fillet burgers in a sesame brioche burger bun.

I'll check both those out.

Haven't cooked chicken in a griddle before - sounds a good shout for burgers.

One dish courtesy of Aldi that's been seeing a lot of the griddle pan recently is from scratch lamb koftas and tzatziki. Only thing non-Aldi are the certain herbs and spices required.

Did the weekly shop yesterday at aldi- am I wrong or have they put up the prices of quite a lot of their items ? In real money terms it's not a lot 5/10/20p increases but it did seem a large number of increases have recently been implemented.

Doesn't make much difference to me but I'd imagine if you were struggling another 2 or 3 quid a week on your shop wouldn't be well received.

Unless something drastic has happened in the last couple of weeks, it's still miles cheaper than any other supermarket.

I think food prices in general are edging up, especially if they have any imported ingredients. It was inevitable that the decline in the pound's value would feed through the till.

One I noticed this morning in Tesco: Fig Roll biscuits had jumped from 36p (which they've been for the last 3 or 4 years) to 45p!
