Yeah noticed small increases generally recently, nowhere near enough for me to change from Aldi/Lidl as the main shop though.

My local Aldi closes this evening for a five-day refit, it'll be interesting to see what changes are made; expected are new freezer cabinets, wider aisles, bread moved to near the exit so it doesn't get squashed; nothing very exciting as yet.

Unless something drastic has happened in the last couple of weeks, it's still miles cheaper than any other supermarket.
Not sure I agree (or ever have agreed) - very dependant on what you buy.

Aldi’s latest TV ads comparing the price of a basket to a branded one from Tesco is downright misleading when you could buy an own brand basket (as their small print admits)

Got a few of these in last week. They don't stock them all the time, but when they do I always get a few. Lovely beer.

I know this is mainly about the food, but the replica Le Creuset cast iron stuff is available to order on the app.

I've gone for the main roasting tin, fingers crossed it's a good'un.

They used to be Crofton brand, changed to another now but they look exactly the same. We've had the shallow casserole pan for a good few years now, very heavy and really good quality.

I contemplated buying these. But as My Mum has a LeCreuset set in Orange I thought I’d hold off and ask her... she threw them away because they were too heavy. She is never going to live this down.

was in LIDL today. much to my disappointment they don't seem to sell that extra long spaghetti anymore (the metre long stuff). i noticed a packet in the 'when they're gone they're gone' tray, but the packaging was already damaged.

Just bought some of the LIDL keilbasa.... so how does everyone here prefer cook/heat/eat it? doing it on a BBQ is out the question (as I don't have one).

The free range (whole) chickens are great.
I roast them off and strip them for the cat and dog. They love it

Also suitable for human consumption! The whole chicken with sage and onion is delicious as part of a roast wink

Carlos Pizza's aren't bad (the Deep Pan ones) - yes, it sounds very Council but good value for money smile

We tried these tonight as a “meat free” meal (despite both me and the missus being committed carnivores laugh)

Noting the fat content I did them with broccoletti (broccoli pan fried with sliced garlic and chilli).

Both versions were deemed to be tasty smile
