I was, at once, earlier this week delighted and saddened to see that all the 'plan-o-grams' for chilled and frozen food were changing in Aldi, indicating a shift from summer to winter range and the associated line deletions.

One such item which was deleted, was their super-yummy guacamole. It had a great taste, lots of chunks... now gone to make way for pigs in blankets frown

Be interesting what brand new lines appear in the seasonal change.
Time to stock up on the raspberry panna cottas!
They were marked as a 'new line' this morning, so won't be disappearing anytime soon.

And in other good news, the guacamole has lost its 'del' label and was back in stock this morning

A pair of two-tonne TUV-approved axle stands in the middle of Lidl for a tenner. A fiver less than Halfords and ECP should one be in the market for some
Thanks for this, just invested in a pair.

Unfortunately it cost me 3x the initial cost as I also bought a trolley jack for £20!

The chocolate covered mini stollen bites? No, my local Aldi only had the non chocolate plain stollen bites in. Shouldn't be too long a wait though smile

Small yet increasing amounts of lebkuchen in my local, no stollen of any stripe yet.

Can't be long as said, though. The chocolate ones are worth diabetes, fattiness, tooth decay, gout, liver damage and then some.

Please try them this evening and post a review? I’ve offered to work a few hours tomorrow and will pop to Aldi after as it’s two mins from there.

So, question to the Aldi (and Lidl) crew.
Is the consensus that Aldi stuff is really good, or is it just cheap/novelty and good for the price?

I bought the violet creams, and expect they taste similar to last years. Not intending to try them tonight as I'm full from dinner.
Didn't buy the pink gin or mint flavours, just thought I'd mention that new flavours had been added to the usual rose and orange creams.

first time on the thread? you not visited either?

some of the food is cheaper because they don't stock as much variety. only really what you need. IMO it depends on what things you buy. cheap ramen noodles are terrible, but they cost next to nothing. fruit & veg is good. many times are the same, such as pre packed mixed salad bags, own branded cheeses etc

the special offers/weekly themed foods are great. they have some german sausages you dont see in the other supermarkets.

Late joiner to thread. I buy meat there for my cat and dog, because it’s cheap.
Just wondering if it’s worth all his hype or just a novelty.
