ALDI & LIDL Food and Drink Worth Trying?

Cat food I now use Amazon for. I have there 120 sachets of Felix on repeat delivery & it works well. Saves lugging it home as well.
We did that, until Amazon inexplicably failed to deliver the last order and made all sorts of excuses - "it will be with you tomorrow" etc. Turns out they had none in the local warehouse, and wouldn't dispatch it from any of the others Now getting it from Pet PlanetTruckosaurus said:

I know this is the Lidl/Aldi thread but I got an email from Sainsbury overnight (I assume because I have a Nectar card) saying they are limiting sales to 3 of any item and 2 of 'high demand' items such as soap and bog roll, which is definitely going to encourage repeat visits to store rather than the ideal situation where people shop for a week or two at a time and then keep away.Patrick Bateman said:

I got everything on my list including bog roll( apart from paracetamol ) today from Aldi, shelves were stripped of a lot of canned stuff gone but I don’t buy too much of that anyway.
Time of day was this?Cullompton Aldi very quiet today at about 3pm - carpark was 1/2 full, generally rammed at that time of day.
Which is odd.....because the Apple Pie Cookies are back in stock. They seem to be limiting purchases to 2 packs per customer for some other unrelated reason, but I repeat. Apple Pie Cookies. In stock. Now.
Aldi is streets ahead of the 'Big Four' in terms of its supply chain and logistics response to the sudden escalation in demand.
Stores are well above 90% of their usual range availability and the number of staff working in-stores has increased in response too.
I understand, though haven't seen it for myself, that Lidl is in a similar position. Tesco, Sainos, Waitrose are still offering huge areas of empty shelves and where they are receiving stock, it's barely lasting an hour or so.

i went into Aldi today and for the first time in a week I got a whole chicken and some braiding steak. Then went mad and got a pack of mince and some baked beans!
Even managed a couple of bottles of wine, beer and some bread!
Life is good.
Oh.. No bog roll then... On your purchase sounds as though you might need some..Even managed a couple of bottles of wine, beer and some bread!

Been to my local branch in Darlington yesterday & today and got most of the items I wanted for a normal weeks shop. Chatted to the staff I usually see and was told that if you want fresh meat & veg go in the morning after their early delivery, if you need tinned stuff, loo rolls, etc. go in the afternoon after about 1pm when they get the second delivery in.
