ALDI & LIDL Food and Drink Worth Trying?
Discussion
Surprised by comments - had aldi fillet and a rib eye this week, both very very good (with a M+S peppercorn sauce...)
After years of kelloggs bran flakes, occasionally trying other/supermarket brands finally found the aldi are as near as damn it the same. Slightly sweeter and abit more "rough" but at £3.00 v 69p for 750gram i can live with it!

Had a lidl when it's gone it's gone 21 day matured bone in ribeye the other night. Was really good, not on par with the 18ounce version I had in the usa but for a supermarket steak I enjoyed it.
They really know how to do steaks in the USA. Mrs. Guitar and I have struggled for years to find anything like an American fillet mignon in the UK and failed. She's back in New York now and has turned vegetarian, and I am stuck in the UK due to the current circumstances, so that's solved that one...V8mate said:

Anyone know how much pumpkins are - I need 50!
You're probably better off contacting a farmer direct. Ask around in a local Facebook group for local farms who sell them and then contact the farmer ASAP, to block book what you need.

Looks like Lidl wants £1.99 for the largest ones. You'd probably have to speak to the manager in advance, as they might only get one pallet per store.
