Looks like my local Aldi no longer sell the bottled belgian and rum flavoured beers. disappointing. Don't even have leffe, no beglian beers at all.
Give the Biere Speciale a go. French but rum barrelled and makes a nice change. Otherwise get to Lidle for the selection box of fun Ace-T said:

the Animus Douro wins every time.
An incredible Red, especially as not much above a fiver! My parents are swearing this tastes as good as champagne.

Not sure if they are telling the truth but I have a bottle in to try.

Have drunk it in preference to Champagne for the last 30 years. The cremants of Loire, Alsace and Jura are all truly bargainous.https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/p/product-recommendation...

I confess that I've been converted to a Portuguese fizz called Rapuseira which is hard to beat for the price.
In general, Cremant is as good as Champagne. (Actually, as is much of the non-French equivalently manufactured fizzy white wine.)
Anyone tried the Lidl Deluxe Xmas themed crisps? Had the Roast Turkey & Sage & Onion Stuffing ones (pretty decent) and Brie and Cranberry ones (excellent, very nearly seen off in one sitting...).
They also have a Camembert, Rosemary and Garlic (death breath?) flavour and another a couple of others too. At 69p for a 150g bag I was pretty impressed - a good deal cheaper than most other posh crisps and no major sacrifice in quality.

The Camembert and Garlic did not last me very long. Bloomin lovelyThey also have a Camembert, Rosemary and Garlic (death breath?) flavour and another a couple of others too. I realise that the thread is mostly for pissheads who sit about getting inebriated at home, however: Lidl has its own brand battery chargers in and they are superb. They also have a Ctek CT5 available for under £70, which is a keen price if you think that a Ctek is better than the US charger.

it does seem that this has become the under £200 watch thread but for under £10 winesCharlesdeGaulle said:

Id expect that there are authentic products and good deals to be had, but people really need to address their alcohol consumption. Not just the quantity but the frequency and its purpose.
That's a pretty sanctimonious post about people you know nothing about. RammyMP said:
I tried the crispy duck for £5 over the weekend. It was crap. The cat enjoyed it though.
I quit elike the crispy duck - takes longer to cook than advertised to get it crispy - but then does shred nicely. Same range as the pulled pork which is also decent - but again takes longer to cook than advertised.
We've got the BBQ pork loin sat in the fridge at the moment to try so will see how that goes.

Who knew Greek wine was actually quite drinkable!
Just had with salmon and noodles. Quite acidic so cut through the oily fish very nicely. Lovely
If my history is about right the Greek's taught the Romans how the make wine and the Romans taught the rest of Europe so yes, Greek wine can be very drinkable! If you're buying Greek wine that refers to "Attica" that's the ancient name for Athens so it comes from some of the oldest continuously farmed wine growing areas in the world.Just had with salmon and noodles. Quite acidic so cut through the oily fish very nicely. Lovely
Thus endeth todays history lesson.
