Keto January has borne some very good cheese discoveries, but nary a cracker to be seen. Woe.paultownsend said:
I picked up a bottle of the Grande Alberone Zinfandel. It best be good! I’m at least expecting a cracking hangover Saturday.
Ditto! First time shopping at the newly opened Aldi, and good reviews on here, so bought a bottle to go with tonights BBQ restaurant delivery kit. andburg said:
Good looking trolley, but I'd spend a few pence more on the tortilla chips, i find that bag very greasy
I struggle to believe we're eating the same product. These have a lovely dry crack (there's a line I never thought I'd write!) and aren't in the slightest greasy, because I find that one of the worst traits of 'crisps'. I also prefer Aldi's ridged crisps to McCoys or any other own brands for the same reason: they're not greasy.Out of interest: do you like Doritos? I can't stand the dry, dusty coating. For shovelling gobfuls of dip, I like a nice, neutral/slightly salty tortilla chip.
Frankly, for 46p(?), these are amazing. And certainly my strong preference to Aldi's more expensive ones and, pretty much most others. One other I enjoy, is Waitrose's 'Essentials' product - 99p/£1.10?

Could well have changed supplier since i last tried the cheaper ones, i just go straight to the bigger yellow-foil bag these days.
with you on too much coating! I always find i want to wipe my hand on something between dips into the bag and have to fight the urge!
For 46p, it's probably worth confirming that your original opinion was right? with you on too much coating! I always find i want to wipe my hand on something between dips into the bag and have to fight the urge!
Do you use tortilla chips to shovel dip - guacamole, salsa etc - or just scoff them? If the latter, I think I'd go for a different 'crisp'.
And while we're here - Lidl is the best place for dips. Particularly like their Nacho Chilli Cheese one, but their chunky guac, salsa etc are all good too.

I'll call it dipping but they come out when i make a big pot of chilli.Do you use tortilla chips to shovel dip - guacamole, salsa etc - or just scoff them? If the latter, I think I'd go for a different 'crisp'.

I dont eat them standalone
just seen my usual Aldi has closed for refurbishment and expansion, the extension has been built a while but they're finally opening it up.
6 weeks!
they've opened a new store which is .7 miles closer to me so that's what they've been waiting for, its 2 miles from my current store.
Within 5 miles I will now have 4 Aldi stores and 2 LIDL, 1 tesco, 1 morrisons and 1 asda

Weekend snacks sorted!
On the subject of tortilla chips/nachos etc my absolute favourites are m&s cheese nachos, they're a quid a bag and are a million times better than Doritos.
Nicely cheesy with a bit of a pepper kick to them and a great texture.
Last night's trip to Aldi had plenty of the beers in stock locally to me.

This is the thing that perplexes me: Doritos seem to be regarded as setting some kind of positive standard in the UK.IMO, they're a horrid, contrived product, that don't deserve to be mentioned in the same conversation as tortilla chips.
