Sad to report that the Curryvurst is craphttps://www.lidl.co.uk/en/c/flavour-of-the-week-al...
+1 on the beer. for 99p the weissbier is pretty good. a much cheaper alternative to buying hoeegarden. the £4.99 stein + can is a bargain too, as they usually cost twice as much on places like amazon (and without a beer).

Not good about the currywurst. A great memory from Germany, as was the pork knuckle but not optimistic this version is worth a punt.
They're both imported from Germany and the same as is on sale in German stores. I guess the key factor is that they're made to a discounter price. My dad enjoys the little microwave currywurst packs. Reminds him of his army days.
Sure, they're nothing like having one served from a street stall on a freezing night, but they are what they are. Same goes for microwave burgers that all supermarkets sell.
(Don't forget to remove the wooden fork which is hidden behind the label underneath the tray BEFORE microwaving though )

Homemade currywurst is pretty easy - buy the German sausage, chop it up. Serve with tom sauce with curry powder mixed through it. Much better One thing I hate about Aldi/Lidl is they do mixed flavour boxes of the same product so everyone comes in and takes the most popular flavours and the st is left for ages and not replenished because there is still loads of the unpopular flavours left.
Really wanted to try those prawn cocktail crisps posted above went to two aldis and each had 3 whole boxes on the shelf full of sweet chilli and some other flavour and zero Prawn cocktail.

Yes, it would be much better to have them separate. I find this with packet sauce mixes, yoghurts, curry sauces (with the spices in the lid) and lots of other stuff too. Bloody annoying. And the worst is jars of lasagne sauce where the ratio, by all logic and rationale, should be 50/50 red/white, but there's never any bloody white!21st Century Man said:

And nobody is buying the beef flavored rice, they only want the chicken flavor.. yet there are mountains of beef.
Other than that the store has been spot-on since the plague hit town.

Have you had Curryvurst in Germany?, as it was not half as good as I had hoped when I did & tried several times, all seem the same, so maybe its not crap, it's just the same as they have in Germany, but nowhere near our Curry expectations!Currywurst is just ketchup and curry powder really only difference is easy and west German sausage skin on or off
