Need to find a more exciting pub.
Discussion
As good pubs go though, we were in York last night and started at the York Tap within the station itself.
It's a new addition since the last time I was there (opened in December I think) and what an addition it is!
Lovely place, which makes the best of what used to be the model shop, vibrant but relaxed atmosphere and with the best beer selection I've seen in ages.
Not surprised to find out this morning that it is connected to the also excellent Euston Tap, which we discovered earlier this year.
After the York Tap we moved across to my old York favourite - The Maltings; and it seems the place is in the process of being extended. Again, great atmosphere, beers, bar staff etc...
Some crap pubs out there peddling crap beer, but there's some real gems too

Any link to the Sheffield Tap? Also within the station, and stocking a remarkably fine selection of ales. Not surprised to find out this morning that it is connected to the also excellent Euston Tap, which we discovered earlier this year.
Is it too early for a pint...?

Two blokes ... asked for the weakest lager available as otherwise after "4 pints they would have to be carried out". As the beer/lager was being pulled they then asked for lemonade to be added as a "precaution".
Then someone came in and asked for coffee....subsequently asking for decaf.
Proper drinkers are a dying bread.
One assumes that you were on your fourteenth neat Scotch of the day, two hours after having taken up your perch and not left it once to pee. Then someone came in and asked for coffee....subsequently asking for decaf.

Decaffienated coffee is odd though. Akin to vegetarian bacon or non-alcoholic alcoholic drinks.
Your pub sounds ideal, but then I don't pay any mind to what other patrons are consuming, just what I am.

2012 - 1994 = 18?
While there's no doubting your mathematical ability, it is entirely possible to be only 17 if born in 1994. wildcat45 said:
So has the model train museum thing gone? I am all for a new pub, but I loved thatmodel train display at York.
The model shop is long gone unfortunately, the building sat empty for a very long time. It was really pleasing to see what a good job they have done with it though. And YES, it is the same group as the Sheffield tap :-)
