entrants must consume 500ml of a spirit of their choosing before cooking? that kind of twist?

I was thinking 'the dish must be something you have never cooked before / use a technique you have never tried before.

Happy to put that in as my 1/3rd if you two want to choose the other bits.

As long as that will work with the ingredients / theme. Wouldn't want it to kill the competition. smile

You can't, but a similar principle works fine in the photo location game. I'm happy to take it on trust, and it will make you push your boundaries a bit regardless of how many things you have cooked before.

Agreed I use the themes to try and cook with things/techniques I haven't before anyway.

Cheaters always cheat! you cant get away from that.

So assuming were coming to some sort of 3 way conclusion, shall I say we (Shirt, MB and myself) put forward that the next competition is to include:

MadBadgers's: dish must be something you have never cooked before / use a technique you have never tried before.

Pixel-Snapper's end of British summertime classics theme

Shirt comes up with an ingredient

How does that sound guys?

my ingredient suggestion was going to be beer, but that doesn't fit easily with the theme. i will have a think and get back to you this evening.

venison or rabbit in lambic would be good!

drunk cooking will have to be a comp. feature at some point! but for the purposes of the thread it was meant to be an ingredient and as such recipes tend to be more winter fodder.

although with the uk 'summer' i guess that's probably close enough biggrin
