I like drinking Cobra. Just recently, Tesco were doing 3 660ml bottles for £5.

Never really rated Peroni, always thought it was a bit Emperor's new clothes. However, I can drink Carling if it's a session but hate anything Fosters, Carlsberg, etc.

There is a bottle of something in Tesco from Poland I think, budget lager for 99p for 500ml. that's quite palatable.

Tesco have a fantastic range.
I sometimes choose a few bottles of interesting looking cider, and wheat beer.

Also worth baring in mind that a lot of imported beers are no longer imported, instead brewed under license in the UK.

A couple of examples would be Tiger and Tyskie. The flavour changed quite dramatically (for the worse) when they stopped being imported.

I was actually sad enough to take this when I bought 2 cases, one was imported, one wasn't...

I love Bitburger. Matalan do the mini-kegs, a couple of them are great when you've got friends over.

Also a big fan of Chang and Singha. Kirin Ichiban is a nice Japanese lager not seen it in the UK anywhere only in Australia.

As mentioned before, Rothaus from the Schwarzwald is excellent. Another good alternative would be Asahi.

I was in there on Sunday and they were doing 4 660ml bottles for £5. Same for Heineken, San Miguel and Tiger. I had a headache yesterday.

Currently enjoying Lidl's Perlenbacher Pils.

6 quid for 6 bottles. Bargain.
that's about €1.70 for 6 in Germany, plus deposit for the plastic bottles

Tennent's Lager (Cold) served correctly is one of the great pints.

Doesn't travel very well, needs to be sampled in Scotland.
true, I've had fantastic Tennants in Scotland

favourites for me are Urquell, König and Flensburger

I'm the opposite. I can drink Fosters or Carlsberg but can't abide Carling. Tastes like cardboard to me.

If I'm out at the pub, and in the mood for lager, I'll drink most of them apart from Stella/Kronenbourg (those give me an immediate headache).

If I have the choice then it will be the original Pilsner Urquell, definitely.

Kind of a fan of Tsingtao, though I feel sure that it doesn't taste as strong as it used to. I had a lot of Brahma over in its native continent and liked it, but drinking it in rainy England left me very disappointed (holiday beer syndrome, perhaps).

all beers are equal when ice-cold, the cheapest piss is equally refreshing

a good lager should taste best at between 6 and 8 °C (cellar temp)

I was drinking literally gallons of Budvar In Prague at the weekend on my mates stag do, it was a tough job but somebody had to do it....

Plus there were no spirits (over 20% abv) due to the prohibition. Any excuse to drink more larger.

Bavaria lager (bottle) is a lager that tastes good at cellar temp. It's just as nice as ale at this temperature.

I also think Carlsberg Export is a nice lager, I was put off this as not a big fan of the one in the green can but its actually quite a nice drink & research reveals actually "the" Carlsberg that is drank in Denmark.

Another shout for Bitburger but that's if you can find it.

One of the best lagers I have ever tried is Sleemans honey brown lager, smooth and sweet and very addictive. I used to work whilst at uni for a discount booze store and they used to get it by the case, I think it was 39p a bottle or something! Never seen it since in the UK

I love Sam Adams-I got hooked on it when I was in Boston about 8 years ago. Availability is getting a bit better for the standard variant but it's nigh on impossible to get any of the seasonal variants in the UK-Sam Adams Summer Ale does pop up every now and again (I've got 4 bottles left!). It's a shame Sam Adams is not sold on tap anywhere in the UK (not that I know of anyway). Tesco does stock it and dependent on what branch you go into, they can have a decent selection of other US Ales/lagers-why Budweiser is as popular as it is, I'll never know....

Staropramen is a lovely beer as well but the only place I've seen it on tap in Wales was in Cardiff bay.

Heineken in the UK is shite I'm sorry to say-I don't touch it when I'm out. It tastes completely different whenever I go back to the family in Ireland however.

I'm not a fan of Peroni however-in the UK or in Italy. It's got a horrible aftertaste.

Not seen it for a while, but Oranjeboom is bloody lovely. Otherwise I quite like the Mexican bottled stuff with a slice of lime, particularly in summer.
