'Stuck' in the US?!
I would kill to be living back in Texas... The food there is amazing!
The former Mrs9 was American... I lived here 10 years ago so moved back with her after Singapore... I had sworn never to come back!I would kill to be living back in Texas... The food there is amazing!
I've enjoyed it actually, despite the current Mrs9 being in the UK (hence wanting to be home), but it's just time to come home now...
The food is good here and reasonable value (I love me some Mexican) but when you want something really nice, I'd say London was much, much better!
Otherwise, I cook at home most of the time (very un-Houston) and can be anywhere to do that!

We always enjoy the blue-fronted f&c restaurant a row back from the front near to the bus station. They crinkle cut their chips and have won various awards.
Eating at Green's tomorrow night. http://www.greensofwhitby.com/menus/restaurant.htm...
Some stunning food on this thread. I'm a very amateur cook, but trying to improve!
From a few nights ago, a bit of Sirloin steak with crushed new potatoes, roast tomatoes and a bit of baby gem lettuce that I stuck in the pan for a couple minutes whilst the steak was resting. (Oh and some pepper sauce on the side. No doubt many will say that it ruins a good steak, but I like it!)

Nice 14oz rump steak from work for tonight.
Bit of this found in the drawer, mixed with oil rubbed on, then wrapped in cling film and left to marinate the steak for a couple of hours. Nice actually, very very subtle US BBQ flavour, with a slight tang, and some sweetness.
Steak, fries, and asparagus, with very peppery garlicy fried mushrooms and onions - just couldn't be bothered to turn it into a cheese sauce really! All fried in butter, bit of a treat!
Over did it a bit, usually eat my steak rare, if not blue... but was actually very nice. Timing messed up so well rested and perfectly pink throughout.
Boss gave my steak to me for nothing, and some mushrooms and bunches of asparagus was going begging too, so only cost me a few fries and half an onion!
