Annova, Sansaire or Nomiku. That's what I'm after.
I saw all those, but its trying to sneak 2 gadgets (3 if you include the vacuum machine) into the kitchen without her noticing.

Have you got a fryer or a slow cooker? I've heard good results with quite low temperature fluctuation can be had by making up a box with a temperature control unit, 3-pin mains plug socket, and kettle lead and socket.

The temperature controller simply turns on the power when required to regulate a constant temperature in the crockpot or fryer.

I priced up the bits - circa £25 in total if you have the slow cooker already. Be careful to read the reviews on Amazon for the temp control units though as they all look the same but some have a better chipset or something.

I'm going to give it a crack over summer when i'm back at work in the butchers. It's not something i'll use when i'm at uni and without good quality cheap meat so I don't want to spend a lot but want to experiment with things i've seen on Masterchef etc!

Rib-eye steak, polenta chips, kale and cabbage with burnt onion gravy.

Second attempt at Polenta with the misses and you guessed it she still doesn't like it.

This is why Im looking at the instant pot, it does everything and can do sous vide, obviously not as good as the dedicated units but Im not having the time other people have to be dedicated enough to use it several times a week, due to a very picky OH that changes her decision on a moments notice.

Made gorgeous split pea and ham soup at the weekend. Dead easy in the Instant Pot electric pressure cooker, took just 25 mins, and no need to pre-soak the split peas!

Seamed rib, removed of sinew, fat and connective tissue bonded with Activa (meat glue), compressed, then sous vide at 53, blowtorched.

Too rare for my liking. But a novel way to prep such a cut.

Wowzers, that looks immense!

Bit of beef brisket this evening seared and then slowly roasted with onions in ale, chicken stock and a bit of honey until tender.

Was good.

I seen this on an old episode of Rick Steins Mediterranean Escape, an old lady cooked it in Puglia. Finally got round to giving it a go tonight.

It was called Easter Lamb. Layers of potatoes, lamb, pecorino, parmesan, tomatoes, crushed garlic and parsley. What's not to like..... apart from gout!

Nice little roast chicken. Now demolished!

Is there anything more tasty than a lovely roast chicken? The only things I can think of that are on a par are BBQ ribs and crispy bacon...
