Discussion
I wanted a home made pie rather than something ready made, but being Saturday could not be arsed with making shortcrust pastry. So I thought I might have a short cut that would give inspiration for other PH folk who want a quick filling pie after getting home from the pub on a Friday or Saturday night and feel a bit pekish.
You need to get these ingredients in the cupboard.
You can see where this is going, a yorkie pudding base filled with extra meat and then the puff pasty topping from the Fray Bentos.
Effort .... easy
Result .... suuuuuuperb, to quote Alan Partridge.
Half way through
That's the can of stewing steak plus the meat from the Fray Bentos all mixed together.
And then adding the lid of the Fray Bentos
Now that is a bad boy, more bad boy than the dirty takeaway thread can do in an entire month. Maybe.
Go try it. Has to be eaten after midnight and some beers.
Improvements?
1) Curry powder sprinkled liberally
2) chips to dip.
Enjoy

That looks great
I have an actify, can you share how you did your chips. I have had a couple of hit and miss with mine.
I've only just bought it but but heating it up for five minutes before using it and rinsing the starch and drying them thoroughly seem to be the main points. Think they are Rooster potatoes as I had tried Maris Piper's but they did not turn out as good.I have an actify, can you share how you did your chips. I have had a couple of hit and miss with mine.

I did similar with my Maris Piper's, rinsing and drying on paper towels. Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
